The setup is

OS JDM ITR pistons 12:1 compression
golden eagle head studs
arp rod bolts
all new gaskets & seals literally, except vtec solenoid
gsr cams
gsr valve springs
skunk 2 manifold
dc jdm 4-1 header
2.25 catback...I know
intake with k&n filter
act clutch
act 8lbs flywheel
energy suspension motor mounts
marshell liquid filled fuel pressure gauge
b&m fuel pressure regulator
hayame coilovers
ssr rear camber kit
pbr metal master brake pads
3 angle valve job
new driveshafts
new lower ball joints
clean and balanced fuel injectors
new distributor
new main and rod bearings
serviced oil pump
golden eagle cam plug seal
hondata intake manifold gasket

that's all I can remember for now...new cams, cam gears and valvesprings are coming after break-in or in 2 months.

cars up and running took it for a quick boot around the block keeping it under 3k, it's getting tuned on thursday

Your gonna be working for all your seconds this year. :D

JDM PR3 pistons are:

-harder to find than jdm itr
-you have to mill the small end of the rod .5mm on each side for them to fit properly on gsr rods. Didn't want to do that
-more expensive than jdm itr
-don't have the special coating on the skirts(unsure about that one, just what I read)
-and I wanted to mill the head and clean up the block even though, I didn't have to. Just did it for peace of mind

CTR are just way to high compression for me. 12.9:1 on a gsr...Yikes! Also since I'll be daily driving the teg in winter/summer and wanted to keep it somewhat reliable.

It's a oem vtec b series crank girdle and it came with my engine :D

Hayame coilovers, and no they don't break like omni's...got pics. I know they look exactly like them though. Tank ran them as well and can vouch for them.

I didn't until this winter :D It runs great for it being untuned on 12:1 compression. I can't wait till thursday to tune it!

thanks again guys

2qwik2nv 04-19-2006 10:20 AM

How does that happen?

WildoutWhiteGSR 04-19-2006 10:24 AM

Too Tight of a valve lash....that's what happened to Jonn

or in my case, too much oil comsumption causing excess carbon build up on the valve seat, therefore not allowing the valve to transfer the heat into the head like it should

2qwik2nv 04-19-2006 10:38 AM

Ah, I see!

Yup driving it while it sounds like a mustang aint fun. It cost a pretty penny too!!

GunNam 05-21-2006 10:21 PM

That's what happened to my old LS motor. I guess that's what they mean by burned valve... oil consumption problems here as well.

stumpyf4 05-22-2006 11:27 AM

Looks good!!

Who's doing the tuning and what system are you using?

BTW: Good posts on Honda-Tech!!

Naw I don't mind at all.

Parts were around $700

Labour was around $700

Buying the new tools that I was missing $300

Brokerage, Duties, Shipping & Handling + Taxes $200

Street Tuned $350

So roughly $2200 in total, then I returned any tools I wouldn't be using again so $2000 or the way I see it, the price for a set of good rims/tires & an alignment.
