Opinions on this integra
Hey im thinking of picking an integra or something in january if i get a job soon. I think if i hassle the guy some the price can probably be lowered a good amount. here is the link to the integra, tell me what ya think.

make sure it was never in an accident, look for body fill, repaint, etc..run a carfax, and like fuzzy said make sure water pump and timing belt was done because that ---- is expensive to do. its over 100k so it should get done if it wasnt done already

how do i run a carfax? do i do it through an insurance company or is there like a site that i can go to, to check myself. Anymore things i should look for besides water pump, timing belt and rusts, accidents, body work (filler). ?

you should have it taken to a mechanic of your choice to check it out for you even before you sign anything, just to make sure its what they say it is, trust me man ppl are looking to screw you any chance they get, make sure the car is safe and sound, for your own piece of mind you know, sorry and if he says no to the check you know somethings up, look after number ONE man

i like to plan ahead of time, i hate figuring ---- out last minute, and the cars been up there for a while i dont think its gonna go anywhere soon. The job part, hopefully someone calls me back.

well atleast your doing some research before you decide to buy the car, starting to look at them now so you know what you want when you are ready to get the car. when looking at a integra specificly, or most hondas for that matter, what your going to want to check is for rust around the rear wheel wells, there will be a rubber strip there, don't be afraid to pull that back a bit to check for rust. if the car has been properley rusted proofed, then you should be good.
take it for a test drive, see if the clutch is nice and strong, grabs well. also, at low speed, turn the car from left to right, listen for any knocking and note steering response to determine the condition of the balljoints. like i said before, see if the dealership can provide you proof that regular maintence i.e brakes, distributer cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires have been changed. have them prove to you that they have been done, not by them just saying that is has been; if this hasen't been done then prepare to do these yourself when you pick up the car. with a car near the 100,000 or 200,000km interval, your going to want to make sure the timing belt and waterpump has been changed.
take the vin and go to www.carfax.ca and run a check on it, see if it is a stolen recovery, or has been in any accidents. also, you can also spot this on the car by miss-matched pannels, or excessive orange peal on one pannel alone - this tells you that body work has been done.
integras specific - lift up the trunk cardboard floor, look under the spare tire and check for water leakage, if so then the taillight gaskets will need to be replaced and you may spot some rusting going on down there.
as with any car, check all signals and electrical. start the car and let it idel until it has reached full operating temp. research what features i.e leather, alloy wheels, spoiler, ABS, cruise controll, sunroof the model of integra you are looking at, that way you are buying a GSR that is a full GSR. not one minus the rims, or minus the leather. you'll want to stay away from aftermarket sunroof's aswell.
another thing i like to do is to turn the wheel all the way right, get down on the floor, and look behind the wheel to see if the CV boot is ripped or looks like it's in bad condition, then turn the wheel full left, and check the passanger side.
