Well, I sold my EF civic for a more "mature" car. Its a 2002 Infiniti G20 Sport which is LOADED to the tits. I have always loved Nissan, ever since i was 16 years old. So its time to build another one! Got lots of things already planned already for it.
Comments welcome. Attachment 9891 Attachment 9892 http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/DSC01474.jpg Attachment 9893 Attachment 9894 Attachment 9895 HEATED SEATS!!! Attachment 9896 |

But what engine does it have in it nizmo, it looks like an SR or is it something else? Glad to see a Nissan though ;) haha. It looks like a nice car and very clean. If so SR20DE with a VE head swap and back to the old days? Or SR20DET? |

Haha, probably true.. kinda defeats the purpose if you end up with a 350HP+ G20 lmao.
Lemme know how it goes and when you get started on what your doing. I'm pretty interested to see what you do with it. |

I would love to go DET, but i think that would ruin what a G20 is about... comfort, reliable, and 4-door family car lol. Plus i know if i go DET, i wouldnt stay outta it and i would want more and more boost!
we will see tho Reliable - What can be better then a Honda. Jokes. 4-Door Family Car - You gonna be driving your -----'s around  |

boost? who said boost? |
I used to watch these cars in the British Touring Car Championship on Speedvision. They are known as Nissan Primera's over there and in Japan. Brings back many memories:

Ryan, congrats on the new car. Just from the pics in the first post, it looks like it's in really good condition, loving the colour. Happy that you got a car with all the extras, well-deserved. :yeah: No doubt, as the weather gets better and you personalize it to your liking, it'll even be that much better. :)

***update***
Well, for sometime there has been a MASSIVE clunk on my front suspension. We stressed tested every part! Ball joints are fine, sway bar links are good, bushings look and feel solid, upper links are mint... wtf can it be? Whenever i go over bumps, pothole or crease in the road my car has a "drop" sound followed be a massive clunk!
So i decided to replace the sway bar links because they were only $20 lol. Problem solved...for the most part. Since the front suspension is SO tight, it is sooooo hard to determine the problem. But shes fixed.....kinda One more problem i would like to ask for opinions on. I also found out that my front left caliper moves when wiggled. Not the bracket, the caliper! I replaced both sides with new slider pins, bolts and washers. Still has the same amount of play. what gives? Opinions are VERY welcome. |
Sounds to me like your piston is not moving.
|
Brake calipers are supposed to have some play and be able to "float".
Without seeing in person what you are describing, it's difficult to judge. As for the front end clunk, I've had the same thing for over a year. Though I'm pretty sure on mine it's the upper control arms. Ryan, have you looked at the sway bar bushings as well? |

I honestly think i need a new caliper, it clamps just fine but i think the hole where the slider pins go into are "bored out" inside. I think with the high kms, the inside of the slider pin hole is more of an oval shape inside. You know what that means right? BREMBO UPGRADE!!! Sicne the 04-06 spec-vs share some of the same kingpin design, their brembos literally bolt up to my G20! woot!!!! |
+1 on Brembo's :yeah:
Never hurts to get new calipers |

After seeing the coil-overs that bought stare at me allllllll day at work for nearly 3 weeks... i broke down and installed them. The install went real smooth with a big thanks to beca and paul for helping me out. It was super easy to do and was my first time installing suspension on a car like this. The setup is NOTHING like a honda, the strut does not move when you turn the wheels.... they are stationary. I will let the pics do the talking.
The good stuff, Koni's on Eibach ground control's Attachment 9820 http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/DSC01485.jpg Its time to get to work! Attachment 9821 Rears Attachment 9822 Attachment 9823 Fronts...almost done Attachment 9824 http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/p...0/DSC01489.jpg Old and busted Attachment 9825 And the new height, didnt go crazy yet...wait till summer. But rid of the wheels gap Attachment 9826 I also decided to clean up my headlights as they were hazed really bad. Did the right side first.... Attachment 9827 And now both done! Attachment 9828 Oh and i put on a new black titanium "nismo" shift knob. Attachment 9829 |
Woohoo. Always a pleasure to help out :yeah:
It was very simple setup to install and I thought honda's were the easiest things to work on. |
Np babe! hope you like it!! cant wait to see the look in summer when you get the full look you want! Very easy to do...even with a few seized bolts and such:yeah:
|
Looks great Ryan! Can't wait to see it in person.
I'm a big fan of koni and ground control springs as well. Very good quality parts. Unless you were talking about 7th gen civics and up (2001+), none of the civics or tegs struts turn with the wheels either. They are all double wish bone front suspension. Not macphearson strut type. |
Thanks guys and gals lol. I forgot to post up my impressions of the ride. oops.
Its rides amazing! I bought this setup from a friend down in the states who is real picky about his cars and parts. The ride isnt bouncy like my teg, its sooooooooo smooth and comfortable but the turn in is great! Feels solid when i want to drive aggressive. I am VERY shocked on how nice it is. I have yellows down back and reds up front because Matt did alot of R+D on this setup and found that most setups are bouncy because of the firm rear shocks. So he bought the yellow which are softer than reds, and that gets me little to no bouncing in the rear. Cant brag enough about it. Free rides for anyone that wants one LOL! |
I get a free ride when we detail :D
Looks good dude, I with a hoist I imagine it was super easy to do! Good idea on the red/yellow combination, smooth is always good. Can't wait to see it dude, we gotta get together sometime |
The koni yellows are adjustable no? They are on our MR2.
|
yes they are. great product. your get what you pay for
|
***UPDATE***
Got new tint from Audio Heaven. I recommend anyone thinking of getting tint... got there! I stayed classy and went with 35% all around. So tricky tinting a silver car... too dark looks horrible in my opinion. How much did it run you for the tint Ryan? I gotta get my car done soon too and yours looks pretty good. I've got the same silver problem. lol.
|
Lookin good man! :yeah:

Going to be replacing the old rusted out oil pan with a OEM Nissan one.

Sweet let's do ours together lol.
|
well, not much of an update, but i put in that rear strut tower bar, holy crap its beefy! Eliminates alot of the over-weight body roll i had before, no wonder the G20 guys swear by these bars.
Also thinking of getting a "west wing" lip. Take a look at it, looks stellar! When i think west wing.. i think huge bodykits and ugly ----. heres the lip. http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/4526/p1010004cx3.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0005_large.jpg and thinking about doing this to my hood since im putting matte on my roof.. http://static.cargurus.com/images/si...-pic-5748.jpeg |
I like the lip, just make sure it stays on come slammage in the summer time haha. Agreed on the thoughts of Wings West, very NFS Underground as far as I'm concerned.
I'm liking the last one, the hood looks good like that - however I'd put the vinyl all the way down to the grille instead of leaving a rather awkward space. |
That lip looks like sex!!!
I gotta agree with david, I would run the line down to the grille also. For some reason when I was thinking of you doing the hood and asking you thought it would look a little better then that. But, do it I would love to see it in person. |
Love it Nizmo! I always keep my eyes open for g20's, i have a B13 myself.
SR20VE NEO VVL time? P.S. I am Also a big fan of Bryci |

Havent really updated this much, so here are some pics of the ride. I smoked the corner lights, dropped her a bit more for the spring time weather, fixed my exhaust, and detailed the interior so far. Much more to come
