Nice Leg Kicks

Nice Leg Kicks
Long intro, but when it gets started, you can see what leg kicks can do (This guy is trained to take these types of kicks, average people can't take 1 or 2 of these)
Even before he falls, you see how he went from jumping in to being scared and backing off, and keeping his hands down, moving like a snail, etc.

I see what you mean by leg kicks; they can be devastating. I think that leg kicks are useful in MA competition, where your opponent is also well versed at MA. What i was originally looking for is a defensive MA (for streetfight purpose) where fighting is not always clean. Check out the Systema and Krav-maga videos if you haven't had a chance to already.

With high kicks, yes you are most likely going to be out of your opponents range, but high kicks usually open up your guard a tad more then low kicks do, as well they usually are slower. On the street, low kicks, preferably straight push kicks which will allow you to keep your distance followed by long range weapons - jabs / crosses / over handed hooks. Also, on the street, I am using straight low back leg push kicks directly to my opponents weight bearing legs kneecap (usually back leg if in a 45 degree fighting stance) if not any knee will do. Might be a tad tricky to hit this target considering the knee is fairly small and both people will be moving around, however, once you make contact with a powerful push kick, the knee will break.

Yes I know this, I'm talking about the average untrained opponent on the street... most likely if you are throwing kicks he will be standing back our of range... or at least after one kick he will be.
