My new car
Alright, well today since I was mad yesterday about the whole appraisal bull.. I decided to wash the car.. take pics, it was starting to get dark after I washed the car, and had limited space to take them.. BUT anyhow.. cleaned the engine bay a bit.. checked all the fluids, etc etc. Just general maintenance that I haven't gotten around to doing since I don't drive the car ANYWAYS.
And... here are the pictures FINALLY. Sorry it took a while. Lemme know what you guys think, and I apologize for it not being a Honda. :P

It'll still look that way by the time I get it all set up and done, I'm saving cash til Oct/Nov for all those parts so I'm just holding off on insurance for a while so I can save faster.. 400$ a month towards my car instead of insurance helps quite a bit. lol.
Can't wait to do some winter driftooooo

if you ask me nothing wrong with a 240sx, from what i've seen its got a lot of potential compared to an integra unless if its a type r but even then its got way cheaper parts that push out so much more power. i would trade my gsr anyday for a sweet 240sx, dont hate man it aint nice. nice 240sx btw i love those seats they look wicked

dimasbenz, your messed. if i had a choice, i would pick up a 240, preferrably a kouki or zenki and drop a sr or rb engine in it. so when you say nissans suck thats just lame, cuz when it comes down to it, a 240 has much much more potential than an integra.

Dude does not have a ------- clue what he is talking about.how do figure 90% of Nissans suck.Take any Honda and put against a Nissan in the same class and The Nissan will come out on top. u are for sure the one on a budget if yer in a teg. go to japan and see what they drive. NISSAN and TOYOTA. Not many hondas
Datenshi that is a very clean looking Zenki S13. Are you going to do a swap?
I was going to put an RB20 in mine. Super cheap swap.
I have owned both S13 and S14. SO much fun!
You made an awsome choice man!

The nissan destroyed the EK9 on many different tracks, and when i say destroyed, i mean beat that car by bus lengths on the track. It was very embarrassing for the Honda.
Not many people know about about that, but when talking to a EK9 owner watch their reaction when you tell them that their loved EK was embarrassed by a Pulsar

Thank you, and yes I will be doing an SR20 swap probably next year. I'm focusing on suspension, tyres, wheels, etc this year. I've been in an S14 with an RB25DET.. thing was pretty sick.. but I'mma stick with an SR.. the engine thats meant to be in there, weighs less and my build will probably only take me to between 300-350hp.. which is all that I want. I'll also be doing a 180sx front bumper conversion as soon as I can.. I hate the pignose look lol. Possibly the rear taillights from a 180sx kouki .. I haven't decided yet which lights I like more.. the 240sx tails or the 180sx.. decisions

I laugh everytime I see people on the net make claims like: "if you put any of X cars against any of Y cars, the X cars will come out on top EVERY time!!"
That maybe the case in some specific situations, like what nizmo mentioned (and thanks, ryan, for including actual facts ), but the above is a a very vague statement that doesn't include any facts to back it up and only causes more arguments.
Unless you can give many examples with real-world facts and numbers, I wish people would stop making such claims. It just sounds childish and in most cases is based on a biased opinion.

But to end all of the debates o the net, people should chill their ego, be happy with what they have and let their car do the talking. I live by those rules. And to be honest, its not just the younger crowd who does this, i met a older gentlemen(40+ years old) who had a fully bolted G35 at cayuga 2 years talking 'smack" to me and my NX2000. So i didnt say much of "smack" back because I knew my car would shut him up.... and it did with a 13.9@101mph His best was a 14.5@98mph
Ahhh the good ol' days

Haha, I don't really compare cars.. except that talon vs teg thing lol. I just hate talons, always have so I'm biased.
I think for the most part though, if people didn't ---- talk about their car being better than someone elses.. we would never progress in the automotive industry. It's all about competition. If everyone just accepted that a certain car was better.. no one would try to beat it... but to a certain extent your right.. without facts or proof.. or even a general idea as to how your gonna beat another car.. just shh.. If you drive a smart car.. you ain't gonna beat a skyline. :P

But altho i agree with your thought on the progression in the car industry, you cant let your "hate" for other cars cloud your judgment Makk. I once thought the same way you do. Now, i have respect for every single car on the road. From the Toyota Camry's to the Fiat 500's.... I love all cars doesnt matter what it is, because at the end of the day... you might be driving one, one day

You make a good point. Honda's EK9 Type-R civic was king back then.... but not many people knew that Nissan always had the Nissan Pulsar VZ-R. Came with a SR16VE N1 Version engine and LSD tranny. It had the HIGHEST hp per liter of any engine! Until the S2000 came out.
The nissan destroyed the EK9 on many different tracks, and when i say destroyed, i mean beat that car by bus lengths on the track. It was very embarrassing for the Honda.

Alright.. so I'm looking for my first set of suspension parts for my 240sx hatch. I decided I wanted coilovers for the car a while ago.. so I am currently in the process of saving for them and trying to figure out the best purchase option for my car.
The problem is.. the 240 is going to be my daily driven car.. and occasionally tracked.. This means it will probably (sadly) be driven during the winter. I've heard about the life-span of coilovers and read lots of information about them.. most people seem to say after 2-3 years the coilovers are done for.. and by looking at any used pair I can tell you they look fucked after that long. Sooo.. Basically my friend told me that I might as well go with springs/struts so I don't destroy my coilovers and be pissed off a year later when the winters fucked em up.
Opinions on this? I still want a firm ride, no bouncy-ness.. and would rather have a more firm ride than a softer one even for DD use. I was originally going to get 8kg front and 6kg rear for springs on my coilovers so they were firm, yet don't break my back. -sigh- I'm torn right now between what to do. I don't want to waste ~$1300 on coilovers.. to replace them in 2 years when I engine swap.. so suggestions on a spring/strut combo that I can get dd and track usage out of? Again.. I'd rather have them be more firm.. then soft at all.. Can I do this? And what are your guys thoughts/ideas?
(I posted this on another forum, exact same message.. but I figured you guys would be more willing to give me ideas and opinions instead of flames about not having camber adjustment so I can hellaflush my 10" wide rims that I don't own to begin with, etc.. lmao.)

Hmmm I got a little bit of an idea the reason some full coilovers only last 2-3 years is because they are used in the winter. Now why don't you get the full coilovers and then get some cheap struts and springs for the winter or even go back to stock. Since the ride height in the winter will be good enough to handle, and you won't kill the coilovers in the winter. IMO that's what I would do if I was drivin my car in the winter.

Any aftermarket part is always gonna be fucked in the winter. Coilovers get destroyed from the salt mostly. I no a few people that rock them in the winter, but they take all precautions to ensure that they won't get destroyed. Rust proofing, washing wheel wells/suspension at the end of everyday, lubricating everything up a few time over the winter etc. Non the less, its still a shame to have expensive suspension be beaten down over winter.
Like paul said, get a dirty summer setup, then just swap back the stock suspension or pick up a winter set.

Yup. Aluminum doesn't like salt. The trouble isn't even so much salt, cause it's not just that on the streets anymore. There's all sorts of additives and chemicals that do a number on everything out there.
As for car vs car. You drive what you like. That's why you're driving it after all. You like the car, so you like the car. Doesn't matter what anyone else says, because they're not driving your car nor do they live with it. So like I always say, **** em
As for the track, it's unfair to say that a car will beat another because there's so many factors that come into play. The only way is really laptimes on a track or for straight line, the dragstrip. Highway 7 doesn't cut it, folks
