Dave YO 07-14-2008 05:34 PM

you should use the proper paper when taping up your windows. the overspray is ridiculous to get off without scratching the windows

blown90b16teg@11psi 07-14-2008 05:37 PM

oh WOW thats nice love it with no side moldings im doing that this winter

Nawaaz 07-14-2008 06:00 PM

Dave YO - yea, im painting it myself, either myself or my dad, not gonna shave my side mouldings though, I like it better w/ the side mouldings, more old school look. And I already have access to the good stuff to mask up the car :D... thanks for the pointers guys. Oh yea, wondering how you guys remove your windshields or if you know any way to possibly do it, I have some rust to fix there, and I need a new windshield anyways.. any tips?

Solid GSR YO 07-14-2008 06:33 PM

bigger hammer!

Dave YO 07-14-2008 07:50 PM

theres a tool at princess auyo you can buy. but if your window has been replaced before it will be a bitch to get out. usually they use an excessive amount of urethane when installing windows
since your window is already broken id take andrews idea and smash it out. makes a ton of mess tho and be sure to cover the vents

also look in the phonebook there are mobile window guys that will come remove/install

Nawaaz 07-14-2008 08:43 PM

That just might be the route I have to go:mad:

mkmk 07-14-2008 08:48 PM

use a hammer there is no point spending money to get it out when it's already broken...might as well have some fun and smach it...
and when your installing one...then take it to a shop and get it installed.....
but i love it...i want to see more pics~!!!!

Nawaaz 07-14-2008 08:52 PM

You will see more pics tmrw.. when i get the damn windshield out, the only thing stopping me from breaking it, is the mess.. i might tape some sheet in behind for when i smash it, but its worth trying the tool first, and if that doesnt work, you can always return it.. :D, but i think im gonna install it myself, might end up getting the lexan windows all around :yeah:

Nawaaz 08-07-2008 11:09 PM

Well, picked up the tool from princess auto, got 3/4 of the glass out, and then it started to rain... so hoping to finish that off tmrw.

Attachment 15963
Attachment 15964

Now the whole interior... somewhat:
Attachment 15965

Tomorrow it gets painted with Truck bed liner... w00t w00t

Buff4Prez Yo 08-08-2008 02:52 AM

bed lining weighs a ton. you sure you wanna do that considering on what you're building the for?

Nawaaz 08-08-2008 06:38 AM

hmm... i guess, Im gonna have to see how much it weighs... damn, ummm we will see gotta think this over now. But its not like I will be lacing it though.. time to read.

Nawaaz 08-27-2008 09:41 PM

Well.. officially done all the patches :D inside and out, tmrw my whole interior should be done, and painted black. I have all the parts that are gonna be used for a bit painted in flat black, gonna go buy an engine stand and pull the engine for the summer... and picking up my project engine, with the parts I want, I hope to be putting down about 300whp, and thats it. Well onto the pics of patches and such.

Attachment 15749
Attachment 15750
Attachment 15751
Attachment 15752
Attachment 15753

Gonna be welding the windshield patch tmrw, and believe it or not, in front of the sunroof there, and along the sides of the windshield, atlease like 1/2 inch of filler, I seriously wanted to cry. Anyhow, thanks for looking.

Nawaaz

mkmk 08-27-2008 10:07 PM

great work man!!...always inspiring me lol.....
can't wait to see the finish project...

Nawaaz 12-19-2008 10:20 PM

well.. i figure its time i updated this... all the body work is done, and she goes in for paint at the beginning of spring, rims have been acquired (track and show and daily). The cf roof cap will be ordered soon also. I have my project engine in my garage, and im gonna start ripping it apart once I get some spare time. I hope to be attending a whole lot of track days with it this summer and also shows. The complete build wont be done till around spring of 2010, because I have to acquire a lot of parts, Im going to do little things over the winter in the garage, I dont have that much space to work.. so Im gonna do what I can. Also, what do you guys know about fuel tank relocation? I need some input, because I will be picking up a beater probably next year, and this one is going to be seeing strict track duty, so im going all out. Thanks guys.

Nawaaz

DJINFERNO806 12-19-2008 11:58 PM

what kind of update is that? pfftt i want something real with pix or GTFO!

Nawaaz 12-20-2008 05:38 AM

its so freakin cold outside... lol, when I go out to work on the car, then i will snap some pics.

bangdagears 12-20-2008 08:47 AM

after seein ur floors i'm scared to take my carpet out and redoin mine....I'm already feelin a cold draft on my balls....

Nawaaz 12-20-2008 11:35 AM

lol. the first time I ripped out all the carpet, it was like a beach in my trunk, sand everywhere and the sunroof drain plugs were all clogged up, someone put a stopper in one so thats why my trunk was so messed up, and they bent back the rocker panels, and welded on some stainless steel side skirts, so my rocker panels got pwned... i now have to fab up some rocker panels, maybe use angle iro or something.

bangdagears 12-20-2008 04:09 PM

my whole car is all redone on the outside... new quarters rockers the whole works windshield too... i left out the floors for last and like i said i'm scared to see the out come of rippin out the carpets..

Buff4Prez Yo 12-20-2008 04:19 PM

why do you wanna relocated the fuel tank? what's wrong with where it is now?

Nawaaz 12-20-2008 04:41 PM

because with a fuel cell (tahts what i meant by the tank relocation).. equals less weight... and im not gonna need tons of gas, thats what the odyssey+jerry cans is for. lol.

riding_young 12-20-2008 10:03 PM

He's determined, I know he'll do it!
Let me know if you need any help

P.S. That does not include parts from the Caribbean! Saw a DC with USDM front this morning on the way to Georgetown, red in colour. And a blue JDM DC in Barbados lol!

DJINFERNO806 12-20-2008 10:06 PM
