Money Shot...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../022806007.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../022806009.jpg Just a couple ass shots I took today, hope it's not too offensive. The car should be road ready by next week, she'll be at Performance World March 10-12. |
holy ----, that looks pimp! that's the del sol right?
|
look forward to seeing it at performance world! i will be ther emarch 10th
|
holy ----!!...---- vince u jus cant have a non show car lol...cant wait to see how sick its gonna look once its out of the shop
|
Yup, it's the Del Sol... pulled a 3 month Overhaulin' on it. There's still tons of work to do: undercoating, exhaust, finish the audio... I can't believe what I got myself into.
Sujeev> My other cars weren't SHOW cars haha, just kinda flashy. This is the first car I built built... complete for track & show from the bottom up. I'm so exhausted, but it's a labour of love... something I always said I would do 1 day. |
nice.
are you rattlecanning the entire underside of the chassis? what color is the gunmetal paint? |
Yeah, just using some crappy tire undercoating and then an oil spray in certain areas. I was going to use some heavier-duty stuff, but it would have been too heavy. Plus, it's going to be dirty in about a month anyways haha. It was really just to make me feel better.
|
Oh, and the paint is from a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege (Titanium Pearl). It's pretty sick, looks light (almost silver) in the direct sunlight and then dark at night, almost like my old Integra.
I really wanted to do it Moonrock Pearl from the JDM S2000's, but I couldn't find the right paint code. Good thing though, they're releasing Moonrock AP2's this year in NA |
damn, we are going to have a car show instead of a meet at wal-mart this year!
|
hahaha
Yeah Fuzz... I can't wait till your car is done too! Who's dropping your motor in? Yourself or Rick? |
nice! project is coming along nicely vince! cant wait to see it in person.
|
oooh... so can my car look like that too? :p
|
looking good!
|
hell yea!
now, make my car as good as yours Vince! |

^^^
W.T.F.B.G.M.T.M.F.D.I.Y. again? FYI Im not helping/lugging/pushing/lifting/the engine up those ------- stairs! At least we have a new crew member for the install... dc24me Jeff. Vince, I can't believe you really are going "show". Im still waiting on my Brigstone tire sponsorship for my "show" bike, assholes! :p (msn asap) |
Well, depending on when you want the motor in... I can be of service too, I have a couple swaps under my belt now
Thanks for all the nice comments guys, I'll post up some more pics in the next few days. |
^it should be done somewhat soon, but it's going in when it's warm...no -20 installs :P i'll let you know when, it's going to be a big install party..lol
btw: i spy some gold wheels on the floor over there :howudoin: |
Yes Glenn... show -----s are us
Fuzz, I didn't realize those were in the shot... now you have to figure out what kind of wheels they are :howudoin |
^ nah vince, show them.. show them the best wheels in the world! :P
|
Im guessing gramlights?
Looks good Vince. Good choice in color too! |
moooooore update pics!!! lol
|
Yes, I'm quite the biter...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../013006012.jpg But thanks to Ric at Precision Rim Repair, John can suck it oooooooh http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../022706001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../022706003.jpg |
Nice shizzle Vince, i'll see u in da summer time.
|
nice touch. the polish lip does a lot. do the 57Cs have slightly thinner spokes than the 57Pros?
MORE pics!!! |
wow vince they look soooo much better with the polished lip :yeah:
how much do they charge a rim? thinkin of repaintin my rims |
damn, that polished lip really brings out those rims!
|
Jeff: Yeah, the C's have a thinner lip than the Pro's... I also like them because they're a 7.5" width, while the Pro's are only 7"s.
Sujeev: Precision charges depending on what you want done, condition of wheels, size, etc. Ric can do some crazy things... he did a set of winter wheels for my buddy, custom colour matched on the inside spokes with a full machined face - CRAZY. He does outstanding work, and even though his prices might be a little more than a Carcone's or Wheel Fix, his quality speaks for itself. It's 4:30 right now and I just got home from the shop! I'm freakin exhausted, but the car's almost ready to go. I spent the last 4 hours making a custom half mid-pipe to bolt up to this bad boy: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../030306012.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../030306011.jpg It's a Fujitsubo Power Getter catback, but it was for an EG/EK so I had to completely forget the front portion of the mid-pipe and make my own. The Fuji is 60mm and we custom made a 2.5" piece with all Vibrant components: High Flow Metal-Core Cat, High Flow Interlock Flex Pipe, Ultra Quet Resonator, stainless piping, flanges, and gaskets. I can't wait to fire her up tomorrow and hear this sucker. Sorry if I'm rambling, I'm just sooo tired and excited because I'm in the final phases of the project. Here's 1 more picture of my trunk X-Brace setup: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../030306001.jpg |
the hell vince.. should have called me, im still up -- doing NOTHING! haha
i thought you were gonna pick up the t1r? what the dilly? ps: your rims are rotas. true story. |

John> Sorry mang, should have called or dropped by... you know where to find me haha. As for the T1R, Speedstar is a waste of time... Albert said, come by anytime, the exhaust will be in stock. What happens? I go there and, of course, no stock.. guy there says he has to check his "warehouse" and will call me back. Did I get a call? Of course not, so whatever... I splurged and bought something WAY better.
Jonn> Thanks man, I think so too.. but don't get me wrong, if I came by Pro's for a good price I wouldn't have passed those up haha. |

Saw the car at Performance World this weekend.....it looks SICK Vince! Great job... esp. the treat under the hood... ;)
Also saw Sweetride and PhatGSR while walking around. They're still alive! |
Vince, what did it cost you to get the lips polished? PM me if you don't want to post the price
|
|
gad damn vince!
|
HOLY ------ ----!!!....MORRE PICS!!!
|
sorry vince..i just had to :D
http://www.stilesautoworks.com/image...g/_MG_2858.jpg ballhAr! (btw vince, if you don't want the pic up send me a PM and i'll take it down) |
So the truth is out, Vince went crazy hahaha... it's cool guys
Vince = Broke The car still needs a proper intake, that was a cut up B18 pipe... I couldn't find anything to fit properly in time. Wayne>> I guess it depends on the wheel & size, but just getting the lips machined and cleared is like $75-90/wheel... I think. I can ask for you, just give me specs of your wheels and I'll get you a definite answer from Precision. Here are some more shots: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...d/100_1645.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...d/100_1637.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...d/100_1634.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...d/100_1630.jpg |

wtf Vince?!?! HOly ---- mang, car looks amazing. Paint is perfect!
|
car looks good vince!!!
k series, the future... |
that looks beautiful. i'm generally not a fan of bodykits, but it flows very well with your wheels. does it have a transtop?
|
Mike> Paint isn't perfect, believe me haha, but I am VERY picky and the job was good enough to keep me happy. No matter what, it's a LONG way from the crap paint job it had when I bought it.
Jeff> I'm not a fan of body kits either, this is the first car I've owned with side & rear skirts... I'm still getting used to that haha. Transtop, I WISH, I hear you basically have to weld the rear of a JDM Sol to your car for it to work properly. Okay so here are some progress pictures & my story (56K don't even think about it) Some of you saw that car last year, it was basically just asthetics and suspension work: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...l/IMG_0133.jpg October 1st, I dropped in a JDM B18C (GSR), ACT clutch/flywheel/pp, msd ignition, ITR valve cover, and a few other tid bits. I took the car to Montreal for SCP and on the way home, I got spanked on the highway by my friend's K20a2 01 Civic coupe. I'm not a racer, but we were trying to stay awake so we did 3 highway pulls. The first 2 runs, I got a jump start on him but he beat me all 3 runs. I was cruising in 5th, dropped into 3rd and punched it... by the time I hit top of 4th, he was in 5th and pulling away from me. I was SHOCKED... my car's WAY lighter, rolling on 16"s, I had 2 people and a couple bags. He has a boat coupe with 4 people, full audio, 18"s, full body kit and just pulled away from me. So yeah, I don't think I should have tested my car because after that, all I could do was think K. But if I was gonna do K, I may as well go all out hahaha. I posted up my motor at the beginning of November, found a buyer, started ordering parts and waited till after my exam to pull it all out. The second week of December I drove her to the shop and the madness began. |
Pulling out the motor (Dec 10)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../121005031.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../121005034.jpg I spent about a week after work just cleaning & stripping the engine bay and re-routing the wires for the wire tuck. Towing her to Velocity (Dec 19) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../121905002.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../121905007.jpg |
|
Got the car back a couple days later and a bunch of parts arrived
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../122405011.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../121405014.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../122605006.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../122605013.jpg |
I started painting some brackets, the ITR MC & BB, Steering Rack, etc.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../122805002.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../123005001.jpg I get some more parts http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../122805012.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../013006006.jpg |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../122005008.jpg
Install the mounts and throw that sucker in (Dec 30) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../123005014.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../123005020.jpg I'm using an RSX rad, so I have to cut and weld the lower rad brackets http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../123005017.jpg |
