Very true, that's why I wanna know what the guy said to Kramer... why was'nt that caught on cam? Maybe he said an actual joke regarding the word and someone was offended and reacted with a racist comment towards him... I guess none of us know the whole story.

I just think if a white guy uses the word people take it the wrong way, if that's the case no one should use the word at all. I hear no one complaining about the guys that called him a cracker or white boy...

Wtf?? Was he on somthing ??

That was un-called for BUT ...

When a white person calls a black person the N word, it's sooooooooooo bad, and soooooo wrong, yet black people call eachother the N word everyday, I hear it at school, at work, on the street, music, TV, it's ok when their doing it to eachother, but when a white man sais it all hell breaks loose... Just my rant

well speaking from a black man's perspective (one that i can only assume) the whites were not slaves, being called ******...it was the blacks being pushed to their limits day in and day out, just for enough food to live, and to live in the minimum conditions...as well as being labelled as *******...so i mean no way in hell should a white guy calling a black person a ****** be acceptable, comedy or not...

but we also live in a day and age were such things are taken more lightly...with black people calling white people crackers and such...does it really hurt that much? does it have a historical significance as the word ****** does? definately not...

with the blacks calling each other ******, i guess thats just them making the best of a bad situation...having something that no other culture could possibly steal and make acceptable within their own culture...

so my ******, lets be friends!

Nope I dont agree with that statement at all. Think about it you're saying one racial slur is less meaningful than another? They are both just as bad. ---- the history on one, they are both a derogatory term simple as that.

If one calls a black man a monkey is that acceptable? ---- no and that doesnt have close to a history and significance to slavery (which is long gone but racism is still here)

yeah i agree, ethnics are labeled. but yet when they are labeled some within that label disagree and doesn't meet the requirements of it, but than you meet a couple of people and forms a group with a lot of pride and in turns returns the label back to what it was started.

like i mean. don't get me wrong, black people have a bad reputation, and some try and some do succeed without failure and probably better than others of other races. but a lot of the youths these days growing up not necessiarly blacks follow a different route, and end up being in gangs or at all thugish.

but don't get me wrong, in my community its the same thing, so i'm not saying anythign disrespectful, just saying that some people try to get themselves out of that label, but others spoil it for them making them look bad regardless.

when it comes to racial jokes i believe that the tone of the person saying it makes a big difference. however, in this case what Michael did was totally stupid and uncalled for. he should appologize for what he did. Also, The 2 black guys should make an apology as well since its totally uncalled for to start yelling out at the person on stage. If im at yuk yuks or second city and the person on stage is not funny, i dont interrupt and start making comments. I just keep my comments to myself.

^^

I have plenty of black friends and family, and the way I see it a respectable black person would never use that word. I've known my brother in law for 12 years and he has never once had to use that word. In fact when he does say it if he has to he struggles to get it out.

I also find it funny that some black people use slavery as an excuse to use the word. Correct me if I'm wrong but did'nt people like Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks etc... risk their lives and fight so many years to stop the ------ of this word and the hate associated with it? Do you think they called eachother the N word? is it not degrading regardless of who's using the term, be it black or white? No body in today's generation should be using slavery as an excuse to say the N word because no one today has gone through slavery, and if you're in Canada chances are your ancestors were'nt slaves and if they were I'm sure they'd slap you for using that word. I see 12 year old kids on my street using that word, now tell me is that ok for them to say it cause they're black? What do they know about slavery?

Anyhow, I think black people should dig deep and actually learn about their culture from history and not from new songs on a Lil Jon Album.

in my point of view which is similar to what IntegraJoe said is that if you are at a comedy show and you don't like his jokes or his routine.. go for a coke and a smile.. don't sit there and heckle the person. I'm a huge Seinfeld fan and I have to say that what he did was not right.. but then again what they did wasn't right.

My conclusion is... if you don't like the show then leave.. that is what he should have said but again he had the microphone who knows what was uttered.

One comedy show I was at a guy was heckling the guy like crazy at the start (no racism) and the guy shut him down so badly that the heckler STFU and everyone was laughing at him it was hillarious.

That shows some serious racism inside him. Like I can see if they were both pissed at each other and called each other a racial insult to the note of ---- you and ---- you because racial slurs are often are said just because they are known to get at the other person as an insult but the fact he went past that point says something.

*Also who knows if the other people in the stands even called him a cracka its just speculation because I haven't seen proof.

This is correct. I work in marketing and have dealt with entertainers of all kinds and I can attest that heckling is part of stand up. good comedians make fun of the heckler and make the heckler uncomfortable by making the audience laugh at him/her, not so good ones crumble in the pressure.

It should also be noted that the hecklers did not make racial comments until Richards began his tirade. If everyone reacted the way he did …. Well obviously everyone does not react this way, else this wouldn’t be news.

Anyways all they did to set him off was tell him that they didn’t think he was funny and only later reacted to his racial attacks.

Secondly everyone talking about the word n!gg*r being used and weather or not its ok to say rather then discussing the context in which said word was being used, Quote from his outburst “50 years ago you would be hanging upside down FROM A TREE with a f*cking fork up your ***”. So really its not just the word were talking about is it. think first.

Did you even understand the rest of what I said in that post? I said 12 year olds use the N word, and where do you think they get it from? Am I lying? If it were'nt for hip hop would that word be valid in everyday conversation in today's society?

Second, when Michael Richards made the comment about the fork in the *** was the audience not laughing? Even when he said "*****" the first time people were laughing, it's when he kept saying it that they realized it was no longer a joke. Obviously "Kramer" has some racial tension built up in him, no doubt, but is the audience any better for reacting the way they did and even laughing at the worst part of the outburst? A racial slur is just the same weather you throw the first punch or retaliate.
