Default Just installed my new exhaust

It's the Apexi WS2 catback system. I've had it on for about few days now. It has a very nice tone to it, not raspy or farty..a bit louder than stock. It's fairly quiet during normal city driving. Doesn't drone on the highway. You start to really hear it growl at WOT, but balances nicely with your engine noise.

This is pretty much what I was looking for in an aftermarket exhaust system. I was actually looking for an RS*R Exmag system but very hard to find & has been back ordered everywhere, so I picked up the WS2 instead since my stock muffler was rusted to hell.

If I were to do it over again or once this system has rusted away (non stainless steel piping), I would probably get an RS*R if I can find one.

I think the only downside would be the shiny stainless steel muffler that might attract some cops. Other than that, I think this is was a good investment. The car does feel more free flowing along with the DC JDM header/High flow cat.

Another thing is, I hear some rattling throughout the rpm range (not at any particular rpm). I'm guessing it may be one of my heat shields or (hopefully not) possibly my hf cat. I'm going to have it checked out at a shop this weekend.

Sorry, no sound clips but here's a few pics (Comments welcome):

car looks good, chris. i didn't know your car was a 94. how many km and the paint is not original, is it?

if you get want to get make it more stealth, you could always rattlecan the muffler black with hi temp exhaust paint, which could easily be removed if you want it polished again.

as for the rattle, if you have an aftermarket header and cat already. it's probably going to be a shield attached to the car above the cat or running lengthwise closer to the rear, which are held on by 2-3 10mm bolts.

I'm loving your car the more and more I see it.

How does it feel with the header and everything on there now?

Thanks Jeff. It is in fact a 94 GSR. I've always liked the 98-01 look. I actually wanted a 98+ integra at the time when i was shopping around. This would be my second integra (first = 95 RS auto & gf's car 96 RS 5spd which i drove most of the time), but I got a good deal that i couldn't pass up. Bought it Fall of '04 with 175,000km. Right now it's got around 206,000km. The paint is original but far from perfect. I kinda cheated & took pics at angles which hide most of the rust spots/imperfections lol, but i've managed to make them less noticable with some touch up paint. Also, in Summer of '05 I claybar'd the car along with Meguiar's Step 1, 2 & 2 coats of NXT Tech wax which seems to be holding up. (most areas, water still beads.)

'black spray painted muffler' I may take that into consideration if it becomes too much of a nuisance, but the polished look is growing on me. You're probably right about the heat shields, I'll be sure to take a look at it when i get the chance.

Thanks Erick. I'll definately come out to more meets. The ones I've missed were primarily due to personal reasons, but I do try to make it when I can.

Thanks Trenell. Same feeling I get seeing your car as well. Can't wait to see it with the new paint.

It's a big & much needed improvement from stock. I definately feel the car pull harder in the higher rpm's (butt dyno proven ) lol.

Anyway, here's a few more pics from the front/side view of the car just for kicks:

nice car.

WSII definitely a good choice.
and rs-r is another good choice as well. definitely quiet exhausts. so very minimal noises, but loud when punched.

Not bad! Thats $20 less than what JRP is charging.

Good choice for the exhaust. I had one on my old 4 door teg and I want to get another one for the coupe. I love how quiet they are.

The only problem I have with them is the ground clearance for the B-Pipe, if youre too low it ends up scraping everything.

Car looks good, Ive seen it a few times and its progressing nicely!

That's a crazy dent in the drivers door! I had the same one removed but unfortunatley the "dent king" moved back to Hong Kong. He gave me a card with his predecessor and he might give us a deal cause i have a few more I want to take out. Let me know.

Thanks Jonn. Actually, I think Apexi might have fixed the clearance issue for the WS2 version (not 100% sure though). Anyway, here's a pic of the underside:

So far, I haven't scraped. By the looks of it, the B-pipe doesn't seem to hang that low. But then again, I only have a mild drop.

Yes, it's pretty nasty. Weird story about that dent. The previous owner (who happens to be a cop) said that the dent/scratch was caused by him accidentally tipping over his bike on it.

I was planning on having some rust and dents fixed this summer but I figure I might as well save up for a full respray + bodywork. Plus, I wanna do this right the first time, so I don't regret anything after its been done. (probably by next spring..who knows).

Thanks. I'm sure there are better products out there for waxing but what made the most difference was the claybar. I wish I'd taken a pic of what it was removing. Pretty amazing what it picks up.

Thanks for the pic Chris, and yes they did make the resonator alot smaller on the WS2, the WS1's resonator was the size of a 4L water bottle. I scraped mine everywhere.

Now I gotta go grab one for my car, I love they way they sound!
