JDM Motor Swap
i've waited a while to do this but it's finally done
here's us getting the motor and tranny out....that one mount was a bitch and the cold weather didn't help
by the time we got it out and hacked a mount it was almost dark
Installing the JDM motor was quite easy tho
but soon after, someone stole it

How long did it take you to get the engine out?? I might end up doing a swap myself .. RS to RS, same OBDI and all .. but I want to know how long it would take me and a friend to do .. if it can be done in one weekend we'll do it ourselves .. cause I'd much rather do it myself then pay a ridiculous price for a shop to do it

fuzzy:
that's the LS that came in the car. it's not the stock one it's only got a 150,000km
simon:
it yook longer than it should've. i was having trouble actually getting it out i kept getting snagged on the mount point to the car so i hacked it off and i did alot of slacking off too. i think it's easier if you seperate the motor from the tranny first..mine was still attached Dave YO said it has to go on a crazy tilt to slide em both out
the first pic is my nextdoor neighbour and I hacking apart the mount and in the 3rd pic you get an idea of how mangled we got it

Thanks Mark! I've been told it should take about 2 hours to get the engine out .. I'll be doing the swap this Sat with a buddy of mine but for the rest of this week I'll be disconnecting everything and preparing so Sat will hopefully go smoothly .. *knock on wood* lol
