i hate tornado's too!!! i mean anyone can just blast the ball off the wall, or with their centers...but can they pass the ball around to create their own openings??
the game of jitz has evolved into something incredible!!!

Dennis - there are three players in the back because the table surface is completely flat - ie. no ramps.
Jay - anybody can blast the ball off the wall or their centers with ANY table. Plus, I know lots of people that can "pass" the ball, create openings and score without having to pass on the same rod. You don't have to pass between players on the same rod to score on a FA-BI. I can show you numberous ways of scoring without having to pass 1-2, 3-2, 1-3-2, snake, etc. If you knew some of the basic fastball moves, you'd be a better all-round player.
As far as the "Aireal" goes, I can't do that - too hard on a FA-BI. I know guys that CAN do it. In fact, I know a few guys that did that to win a tournament.
As far as the different tables are concerned - different tables for different games. Tornado is a world renound table. I know lots of people that converted to the Tornado game because it's a better game than passing on the FA-BI.
FA-BIs only mainly exist in the GTA and Italy. Western Canada is all Tornado, while the eastern side has a mix of Garlando (Italian style, similar to FA-BI) and Tornado, some Bonzini in parts of Quebec. There are some Garlandos in Europe, last I remember. But, it's Tornado mostly.

I play fastball only, so Im biased to the FA-BI. The Garlandos are nice, but it's different from the FA-BI - if you compared them side by side, the FA-BI is a defensive table, the Garlando is offensive. I don't pass, so I stay away from Tornado.
If you like the passing game, then go with Tornado. It's designed for the passing game whereas the FA-BI is not.
The only problem with the Tornado is that there are only 4 places in the GTA that I know of that has those tables, if Gilchrest still has them there. There could be more, I don't know. FA-BIs on the other hand, are all over the place.
FWIW, new tables are not cheap and finding used is next to impossible. The best price I can get for a home-style FA-BI is $800+tax (I think - I'd have to check that). If you want a Tornado, call Gilchrest Vending.

no bryan, i knw exactly what you mean...on tornado's, i can pass for years at a time...and just the passing game on the fabi's is much more challenging...well i think anyways...
i was supposed to get a garlando a few years back, but i decided that churchills was good enough...

i prefer FA-BI...seems to be the table of choice around here.
i have a sportcraft one at home. the ones where the rods go thru both sides of the table. its funny when you play 1 on 1. if your oppenent stands too close to the table and their hand isn't on the defence, you can push it thru and nail them in the bag. mine is heavier than commercial tables but after playing on mine a bunch soon after i got it i noticed i had faster shots on the FA-BI tables. it was great practice and training....i've also played on a steel table in portugal. all the men and ***** were solid steel too...yeah baby!!!...Lightweight!!!
