Amanda i meant the mugen lips are made to fit all the way around, i know because ive installed a few with my buddies in DC's already. Unless he got the 98+ lips and put it on a 94 bumper?

the fact is that not many people would store their DA for the winter... its a 15+ year old car and people will use them all year round. most of the cars i posted are likely from the states like cali and **** so keeping them mint is easy. most of the people here would and are using them as their DD and drive em all year. i've had the privalege of getting my DA passed down to me (fam bought it brand new in 91) so it has a sentamental value to me. i'll prolly run it till it dies!
i will never go all out and spend the loot to mod my car cuz at the end of the day a car is the worst investment. it depreciates in value from the day you drive it off the lot (unless your buying a serious whip). i'd rather have an OK looking car and save that money on a better investment (like a house).
but im one to talk. a lot of my money goes into sneakers. my sneaker collection can buy me a new car without a doubt.

^and that's you and that's fine, however what i'm saying is for the people who complain that "oh, my car won't look like the ones in the OP because i'm in canada" is a bunch of horseshit. if they want their cars to look like that they can very well do it, it's like i said, people don't dump the money into them, and everyone knows that modding cars is not cheap.

Fuzzy, I dont have the most disposable income, but I save up what i can get and anyone who knows me, knows that I dont buy cheap little rip off things, I save up and buy quality parts, I hope I can meet this standard, and yes, my car is going to be winter stored, and basically a track car, but I still want it to look nice and all, hopefully I can finish her in time for one of the big meets, but yea, I dont agree with the Cali and Canada thing, its a matter of how much you care for your car, and how well you maintain it no matter where on the globe you are.

sorry to tell you its not an excuse, its a REASON. As much as it is true what you say about us not putting money into our DA's, remember we have to fix the bodies a lot more than ppl in warmer climates. Tell me thats bullshit because you know it is not.

btw as a last word, there are plenty of finger licking good DA's that would make those ones look like ---- and i can vouch for that because they belong to buddies. They all live in my old area of Dufferin and St.clair. Why arent they on T.I.. because they have better things to do lol.
ls/vtec knows these guys probably.... two specifically would be Hugo (red DA) and ROB(gunmetal DA)

sure most ppl in cali don't have to spend money on patch work, but at the same time they are spending twice that amount JUST on rims...not to mension all of the swaps, CF work and custom work in general that people don't/just have started to do.
my point being is that people put money into their cars in cali and it shows, and when these people idolize(sp?) these cars and think that they can't build one like that is laughable, it's just that they have to put the money/care into it and they can acheive the same if not better results.

i got to post some of mine since its a da thread rite now its off the road until i get a clutch kit and flywheel, and put ym lipkit on.
heres some pics
i need my lipkit and i need to slam it on form and function but unfortunately my girl has limited my spendings so new hks exhuast, clutch kit and lightened flywheel, install lipkit, sound system and repairs/maintenance and thats IT. not even a repaint on my bumper that has minor rockchips im HURTING FOR MODS.

i understand its a hobby and for some people its their life but when i posted i was talking about me personally. to each their own, yes, but i wont go out of my way to mod my car and add a bunch of expensive/rare parts to it. im fine driving my DA and im content on the state its in. pops gave it to me so it has a sentimental value to me.
how are you going to compare the money spent to fix the rust of the body to spending twice as much on rims? what are you going to get from the rims? contentment? e-praise? fixing the body due to rust is a necessity whereas rims are considered luxury.
it aint even the money issues, i went to school, i got a career... im on SALARY not HOURLY pay so i aint "ranting" that i aint got money. i can effing use my RRSP to buy a car. C’mon now.

it's not necessarily how much money you spend or how much ---- you can put on it, but a well thought of selection parts that will make the car pop and stand out.
smoothe's old $300 DA, a master cylinder, suspension drop it to the ground (600ish), a set of nice authentic wheels with rubber (like a set of 16" te37s ~$1500 used), 92-93 bumper ($100?) and a set of 1 pieces $200 would have been a sick looking car for well under 3 grand that would end this thread. clean, simple and to the point.
i really doubt anyone's going to do that locally because it seems people here would rather spend the same amount of money and put together jdm rice ghetto *** looking heatscores....

wow where did this thread come from? A DA is like all the other cars here in canada, fuzzy is mainly right about all the rust bullshit, I've been working slowly on mine for 6 years now and it's nothing crazy special, there are alot of nicely done DA's in the GTA there just few and far between, people with more of a disposable income purchase a newer car, the car has alot of potential to look good, most people are just too lazy to put some time into it. Fuzzy's DC had quite a bit of rust before he got it painted, he has worked hard and has a really nice car, Mark is working on his motor but has done his body work and has come out with a really nice car which is a 1990. I am working on my 93 DA slowly and have all the parts for the body work, but probably won't get it done till next year now. People cars are what you make them, if you like rice well then do it rice, if you like clean do it clean, there is no need to bitch about salt, it's not like they won't put salt on the road next winter, it's just things you have to work around. Cars take a lot of time and money no matter if it's a 1950's or a 2000's car it all about care and investment of time and money, and of course love for your ride.

Still explorin these damn roads that confuse the ---- outa me. Hey they finaly repaved the intersection at st. clr and dffrn lol i dont have to slow down or bottom out.

Thank you...it was very clean,as for the EL rims I put on in 2000 created a unique look for a while till others copied it..lol

READING IS KEY... i never stated you drive a DA?!? you should take your own advice and "might want to re-think that one." i simply stated that you were saying how everyone here was complaining that we couldnt build a DA like the pics in the first post... if you read the comments that people posted, no one here said they couldnt build a DA like that. one dude even took your challenge and you went ahead by saying "i hope you have alot of disposable income". as you can see, he is obviously working on his car and doing alot of the work himself... just because it wont turn out to the so called "status quo" like those pics (not saying it wont, just giving an example) doesnt mean he didnt put the work into it.
let me re-phrase that then, why the hell would i have hurt feelings because people(once again majority) don't put effort into their DA's? i know nawzz is putting hard work into his DA and it will pay off in the end, the fact of the matter once again is that the DA is not the most popular platform for a build.
c'mon man, i started this thread to showcase the 2nd generation of integras and you came in posting a pic of a pile of **** and then post again saying how we are all complaining when like i said, you were the one "ranting" as you posted at the end of your original post - "END RANT"?
instead of adding to the negatives, why dont you just post pics up of dc's in a new thread. im sure you have tons as i've seen your pics throughout various threads on this site and they are great! always enjoy the great photography...

i posted the pile of pOO as a joke, and if your too blind to see that then what can i say? my rant was exactley that, my personal opinion of the topic at hand. I appreciate the compliment on the photography.
just cuz i drive a DA that doesnt have as many mods as your so called "status quo" means im not worthy at all? that i didnt bring my "A" game? that i dont bring anything to the table? cool, so be it. i aint out here trying to impress anyone.[/i]
nobody said anything about your car specificly, i was speaking in a general sence, the majority of people who mod DA's don't bring their A game, instead they cheap out and it shows. hell just drive around brampton..LOL! jk
