Default Is this car legit....

Price seems low.

Year: 2003
Make: HONDA
Model: S2000
Model Detail:
Price: $31,900
Mileage: 15,000 km
Date: 1/30/2007
Ad Type: Private

FREE INDOOR STORAGE TILL APRIL
Comment: Excellent Shape! Only 15,000 kms!!! 6sp. manual, Ice cold A/C. Rare Yellow on Black Leather. Extended Warranty! Never driven in Winter or in the Rain! NO GST! Save $$$ NOW! Car is in Whitby. 15,000 km. $31,900 905-655-1807. bbrunnock@rogers.com (CXNSZT)

I e-mailed this person and received the following response -

The car has only 14,500 KM!!! As stated in the ad, it has never been driven in the rain and never in the winter (from Nov. 1 till April 1). It has always been my second vehicle. So it has been for pleasure use only. I only drove it to work twice - and that was to show it off! Also, it has always been stored indoors - year round.

I should also note that I have only used Castrol Syntec motor oil ever since brand new I have changed it approximately every 4000 KM. The tires are good (only 14,500 KM). There is a tonneau cover for the power roof when it is down.

I bought the car brand new in July 2003 knowing it would one day be a highly desired classic car. I intended to keep it for 30+ years. This is why I kept such good care of it and kept the KMs so low. Unfortunately, due to professional/financial circumstances beyond my control, I am forced to let my baby go.

No need to cry for me because this creates a great opportunity for you. A 2006 S2000 will cost you $60,000 out the door. This one is barely broken in, and still has 100,000 KM of warranty left - all for LESS THAN $35,000 TAXES IN!!! You save $25,000 for only 14,500 KM of use!

Now, here's what I want you to know - even though the car's history report is clean. Two and a half years ago, the car was parked in a parking lot and someone backed into it. The car was tough and didn't sustain much damage, but I was crushed (emotionally). It broke my heart. Rest assured that the vehicle was repaired professionally using only brand new Genuine Honda Parts. This was back in 2004 when it only had 6000 KM on it. I have been enjoying it ever since.

The only other negative thing I can say about this car is that the last time I drove it to work, also back in 2004, the car was scratched on the passenger side. It is very hard to notice so I never got it fixed.

Other than that, the car is absolutely perfect in every way. It is so much fun to drive. It draws so much attention. Women and men of all ages are drawn to this car and its driver. It's absolutely stunning. It is a tremendous deal. Plus, if you don't have a place for it or don't want to drive it till spring, I am willing to continue to store it in my garage until April 1, 2007 at no extra charge!

Thank you for your interest. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Sincerely,

Bill

I've never ever seen a S2k in Whitby period, nevermind a yellow one, but that could also mean that it's always garaged like he mention.

It seems legit to me, I'd check it out. Actually he's located not to far from my house.

I saw this in autotrader.ca too. His email seems truthful and true /\ I'd check it out. Price is more reasonable than the blue 2003 S2000 posted 2-3 wks ago for $21,900 with 28,000km on that same website.

I've seen another S2K but it was white and just passing through. If this is legit I would buy it right away.

Hope this is legit!

Could be - also just could be one brought over from the states that was in an accident (or a canadian accident). Kms are low for an 03.

Do your research. Carfax, VIN decoding, original bill of sale will all help.....

IMHO, the price isn't that far out of whack for an '03 being sold in the winter, with a somewhat rough past.

Do you really want yellow?

I don't use Carfax personally. My last purchase was an easy one, original owner will all paperwork/receipts back to 1993. No brainer as far as I was concerned....

imagine buying a car with 10,000 tracks/lapping/ autoX milages. Though car haven't seen snow and rain, I would still say it is a lemon.

but carfax doesn't show all. you get into an accident and pay out of your own pocket or settle it out of insurance, take your car to a body shop to get it fixed, carfax has no idea.

Carfax this carfax that....... nothing is more powerful and trust worthy then what you see with your own eyes.... look it over.... give it a mechanical work up... if everything pans out ...then go for it... I would trust my senses over a print out off the net any day... Carfax is good.... but it's only part of the equation...

i dont trust carfax... my integra was written off last summer and a few months later, just for *****, i carfaxed the old vin and it said everything was okay, that the car had never been in an accident and that it was still registered to me... lost total credibility to me
