born2board's b20 vtec build
Hey guys, now that the car is finally looking good. I figure its time to get onto the heart of it and give the baby some *****. So in my dorm room lol i am building a b20 vtec for the teggy for spring.
Motor will consist of a
b16 head with
Skunk2 Stage 2 cams
Skunk2 Valvesprings/retainers
Blox IM
Either a AEBS or ITR TB
Skunk2 Cam gears
B20 bottom end
bored either +.2 or .4(not sure..advise?)
JE 11.5 compression B20/B16 Pistons
Eagle H beam rods
Arp hardware
And a GSR tranny with LS 5th gear
Now if you guys have any advise or feel i should reconsider some of my choice please feel free to let me know
My goal is to hit somewhere around 200-210 whp which i think should definatly be achieveable on this setup.
Pics will be coming shortly

Amanda its not that big, im building the head up here right now, i will probably get all of the parts for the bottom end and then actually build that in my basement at home over the winter break.
And LSD i was defiantly considering becasue i will probably have some traction issues

There's plenty to do outside my room but I choose not to!

just bore it 20 over. the sleeve is already really thin. all you need is a fresh surface. you can get RS Machines pistons instead of the JE and shot peen the stock rods instead of the eagles to save a bit of cash. both will hold up to the abuse.
update with a few pics.
motor storage place lol

Keeping all my parts under the bed

BTW if any one wants b16 cams...take them for best offer

head taken apart

Where the magic is happening haha

And this will be the motors new home come spring time

Hopefully will be updating soon with some new parts!

Update!
Recieved head back from CCH, grahm just took a few thou off the head for a fresh surface and i had the head cleaned up a little. As well i recieved a few parts in the mail. Just waiting on a few more small parts and some cam gears and it will be head assembly time.

And a couple goodies

Love the EK sides on the Teg, was contemplating doing this on my Wifes 99 GSR b4 it was totaled
Gram is the man at CCH. He built my bottem end for me, so far stock sleeves are holding 505whp @ 24lbs of boost!!! *knock on wood*, I daily drive it tuned at 18psi makes 446whp@

Honda cranks are usually balanced pretty good from what i was told by the guy that did my machine work. My crank was off by only 1 gram. i had him shave it anyways.
