BHG: Gizzer's one year timeline (56k its whoring time)
Well its been a little over a year since I purchased my GSR from a fellow member here on TI. 13 Months to be exact. And over the course of those 13 months it went threw a few minor changes. Its also been a headache at times. There were days were I felt like just driving it into the lake and calling it a day. But whats the fun in that?
When I first got it, my original plan was just to transfer all the parts I had from my old DB7 that would fit this DC2 and throw on some Teins and call it a day. I thought I had learned my lesson about the "modding bug" from my first car, but boy was I wrong! After some paint, a couple of sets of wheels and lots of TLC the GSR sits the way I pretty much want it to be.
Onto the good stuff, my pics. But unfortunately, I never took pictures of the car when I first took it home. To be honest it felt ugly and unfinished so I never bothered to take pictures of it. Here are some of the pics I have over the course of 13 months of ownership:
June 05: Notice the spoiler and the leathers? Yikes.
Engine bay shot: I got a lot of work ahead of me.
July 05: Went wingless, shaved off all the emblem holes, spoiler holes on the rear hatch and front bumper. I also had the entire front clip repainted, the stone chips were pretty bad.
August 05: The ALT's I brought over from the DB7 felt "cheap" so I went out and got a new set of wheels.
Engine Bay shot:After a few good hours with a bottle of Simple Green, my handy steam cleaner and a toothbrush..voila!
November 05: Getting it ready for "storage"
Engine Bay shot: A slight change is in the works come spring time...
Fast foward to April 06:
These were sitting in the garage for a good 4 months waiting to be put on
And on they went for a couple of months..
...until Jeff was kind enough to lend me his Works. I got a taste of what my car looks like on one of my top 5 favorite rims.
July 06: How she sits..Im pretty happy with the way she sits now. Just some small things here and there to be worked out and it needs to be tuned. Here are the latest pics.
Finally I would like to say thanks to following people for all of their help and support over the course of my build..
Raj - for selling me the car at a great price and all the help he provided me along the way. I told you Id take good care of her!
Gowsic - finding a buyer for my old four door and thus helping me purchase this one.
Fuzzy - for the countless times you've helped my sorry *** with this car.
Bryan - for the help with the "transition" from my old car to the next.
Trenell - for the countless hours you spent on this car whether it be installs or tackling those damn check engine light codes! Think "TPS Sensor night"
Tim - for all your help with both of my cars and those damn "racing seat" installs
Jeff - for letting me borrow the RSZR's to ----- out in my pictures. I'll have them back to you sometime this week.
Glenn - for all your help with stuff...lol
and finally...
Therese - my patient and loving wife, for putting up with infinite hours I spent away from you and Jordan trying to get this car the way I want it to be. Thank you for putting up with the harsh ride, the incessant noise the motor makes and the gas fumes you claim to smell inside the car. And I know you hate those seats but theyre staying.
Jordan - my son, whom Im building and saving this car for. Sorry for spending so much time away from you and your moms. You'll thank me when I hand you the keys and the ownership to this shitbox. LOL.
Thats the end of my little story. Thanks for reading!

Hey Jonn how many guys have had their ride on F1 starting grid?
that car looked god when Raj owned and it still looks amazing good job man.
Buy the time your son gets a licence that car will be antique. It will be like how now are muscle cars from 70's. The kids will envy Jordan.

Not my cup of tea ... Where is the JDM Front, Type R wing, GSR Blades (as summer rims) and OEM Optional kit? :*****:

I still find it funny to see you driving this car, considering when I first met you waaay back on 02 and your old 4-door. I remember seeing that car go from stock to not-as-stock up to the day you sold it. It's odd that we both transitioned to different cars at the same time but for obvious different reasons. But it's good to know that bits of my car are still around and close within the club.

Car has been though a lot of transformation. Lol your car has been babied, serveral different intakes and rims for it to enjoy. Very clean indeed, but am i the only one feeling the ALT kappas? even though jonn saids they are feel cheap, i found they go with the car well. But the other rims are nice too. But i guess thats what happens when your a BALLER and can change your rims when you want. ;P

Jonn I think I'm going to cry after reading your story...it's like you were writing your autobiography!
Your car looks perfect now! Can't wait until Jordan gets a lil older so that you can take him out for rides!!
PS: You need to show Therese what you said about her and your son!

Nice motivation to keep the car in best possible condition. Im sure he'll appreciate it when hes old enough.

Im not sure which rims I like on the car. Looking back at all the ones Ive had I like them all, but I get bored of wheels so easily that I feel like I have to change wheels all the time. Right now Im already bored of the flat black look. Next set of wheels will be white for sure.

5 lug would be nice, but its a waste of money. Although the rim selection is alot better than 4 lug.
I want a set of Regamasters, but Im dreaming. The other two I dont like in white. I leaning more towards a set of TE37's.
white rsz-rs?
