HADA Karting Championship - March 16th - $5 off For TI
Spring is slowing coming and HADA Track School is about 7 weeks away! TRAC Academy at Calabogie is only about 8 weeks away meaning that the racing season is finally just around the corner!! WOOHOO!!
So before all the summer track cars are pulled out of storage and prepped for this season, there's no better way to shake out the cobwebs then by.....
KARTING!! KARTING!! KARTING!! KARTING!! KARTING!!
Event #5 is our FINAL event of the 2008 HADA Winter Karting Series and is on Sunday March 16th!!!!
Our first ever karting series at Grand Prix Kartways is coming to an end and I hope everyone had as much fun as I have organizing it! We had lots of fierce competition and battles out on the track but it's not over yet! So if you've yet to come out this is your last chance! So come on out and battle for some "hardware" and win some sweet HADA swag!!
Registration opens at 8:00am and closes at 8:25am SHARP!!!!!!!!!
Please show up early so we can get all the registration out of the way.
Driver's meeting is at 8:30 am sharp in the VIP Lounge, and we'll be on track by 8:40am!!
Event Structure
For our final karting event I've decided to use the format of random grid starts again!
Each driver will have three, 20 lap sprint races and each race the driver's will have a random grid! So before each race you'll pick a number out of a hat and that will be your starting position for that race. This way it'll give everyone a random chance of where you'll start on the grid! SO there will be NO qualifying this event! Just straight out, ballz to the wallz racing and we'll have standing starts again!
GPK points will be awarded based on finishing position for each of the races. The driver who finishes with the most amount of points at the end of the day will be the event winner! In the event of a tie, positions will be sorted by faster lap time.
This event will be limited to 30 driver's and requires a minimum of 10 registered participants.
There will be a maximum of 10 karts on the track at a time.
Cost
Cost for HADA members is $65.00 (tax included)
Cost for affiliated club members is $70.00 (tax included) Including TI
and for NON-HADA members is $75.00 (tax included)
***PLEASE BRING CA$H ONLY or CHEQUE (written out to HADA Motorsport Club)***
KEN IS PERSONALLY collecting all track fee's (once again in CASH or CHEQUE form ONLY) on behalf of the club and forwarding payment to GP Kartways.

Directions;
From Hwy 401:
North on Allen Expressway to Sheppard Ave. West. Turn left (west) and proceed four lights to John Drury Drive, turning left once more. Turn left on Carl Hall Road and follow around to 75 Carl Hall Rd. We are located in the second building of the industrial complex.
From Keele Street:
Turn east on Sheppard Ave. West and proceed to next lights. Turn right (south) on John Drury Drive and take this to Carl Hall Road, at which point you will turn left and follow to our entrance. We are located in the second building of the 75 Carl Hall Road industrial complex.
Driver's Championship Title
Points will be given to the top 10 HADA members for their OVERALL finishing position and for their fastest lap time for this event; (points are awarded for fastest lap time because there will be no qualifying to give points to)
Points will be awarded (overall finish + fastest lap time) to the top 10 HADA members in the following fashion;
Fastest Lap Time
1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 9 points
3rd place = 8 points
4th place = 7 points
5th place = 6 points
6th place = 5 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 3 points
9th place = 2 points
10th place = 1 points
Finishing Position
1st place = 20 points
2nd place = 18 points
3rd place = 16 points
4th place = 14 points
5th place = 12 points
6th place = 10 points
7th place = 8 points
8th place = 6 points
9th place = 4 points
10th place = 2 points
Overall series champion will be based on the best 4 out of 5 events!

As always, I have booked a VIP room so everyone will have somewhere safe to leave all their belongings as it will be LOCKED while we're out racing. We will be using the VIP room for the driver's meeting before we hit the track, and after wards for the trophy presentation for our podium finishers. If you need to get into the room come get me and I'll get the key from our pit manger.
Post-event breakfast!!
We'd like to invite everyone to come hangout afterwards, and join us for some breakfast at the Downsview Diner, which is south on Keele St. on the east side a few block down from GP. Usually a bunch of us will go down to get a bite to eat, talk some smack and hangout for a while! It's fun times and a nice way to wind down from karting. Oh btw it's an OLD SCHOOL dinner and they take Ca$H only just so you know!
