A year after storage

Default A year after storage

Ok I have a 1998 GSR that I just took out of a year of storage and I have a few questions. Before it went into storage I did some transmission work on it and changed a few gears the 1st 2nd and 5th and R, I got the parts from a friend that had a GSR trans and a LS and I used some parts from each of them to make a working one. My question is in 5th gear when I'm doing 120km my RPM is at 4100 is this the correct gear for a GSR and the correct RPM? I wanted to put in the LS 5th but I think I put in the GSR.

2nd question is that I have been getting a CEL even before I put it in storage with "Cylinder #3 misfire" I changed plugs, cap, rotor and wires and the CEL still comes up, most of the time it comes on when I'm ripping it on a on ramp to merge into traffic and I hit VTEC. The cell stays on for a day or 2 and then goes away. I did a compression test this week and I'm 210 on all 4. Would this have anything to do with my timing belt? The engine when its running seems to sputter from time to time when I listen by the exhaust, any help would be welcome. Thanks

Have you changed your timing belt yet? How many km? Do you have a cat and resonator?

The belt was changed about 3 months before it was put into storage, the car has 170,000 on it. Oil change was done ever 5k this I know because I did them, could it be possible that the belt jumped a tooth? The cat and resonator are still on the car, I was looking under the car today and I also see that my header is dented and 2 of the pipes are about 50% closed, I'll be looking for a new header when it goes into winter storage in Nov.
