Default Window goes down, RPMs go down

So i was in the McDonalds drive thru, when I put my window down in my DC my RPMs went down.

In DCs, the window is automatic so when you press the button to go down, it does it itself, im sure you all know.

Why are my RPMs going down

Special RPM enhancing power windows. Turning the steering wheel at a standstill has a similar effect.

I think it may have to do with the fact that the car needs a certain RPM at idle to produce the amperage it needs to power, in your case, the window motors, and in mind, the power steering motors.

Anyone feel free to correct me on this, this is just my speculation.

yea its the load put on the alternator. like if you turn headlights on it goes down, etc. there is more resistance put on the alternator as more power is drawn. thats just science really. its normal. to fix it, i'd just clean my iacv and clean all your gounds too. but hey, its just something that will happen.

^^ when you are in a car, turn the wheel while parked and turn back. watch your rpms.

they will fluctuate.
also with power windows...they use electrical power duh...when you do use it, alternator has to put out certain amount of power, so idle goes up so the alternator would spin faster producing more power.

im thinking that maybe your alternator, battery or both could be either toast or on their way out. if you're dropping the window down with the switch it's obviously using power produced by the alternator and battery. so if either one of them, both of them are weak or on the verge of being toast they're not producing enough juice for the engine to run so therefore the rpm's may drop or the car will stall.....i would do an avr test for starters and make sure you take it some place that has decent shop equipment such as the avr machine. goodluck!

ps you may have an aftermarket alternator that's not producing enough amperage...

that may have something to do with it. battery's leaking means cells are running dry and deteriorating. change the battery with a new one, make sure you do any avr test and tell whoever does it to load test the new battery aswell. then go from there buddy that's as much as i can think of right now...sorry if im not much help!

my car does something similar, for both the steering, window, headlights, hard on the break peddle, all of these things don't change the rpm more than 100rpm, but they do effect it a little, very briefly
