ummm.....no

you need to have a 94-95 ECU......the 96+ ECU's cant have chips put into them.

Have a chip tuned to your car on the dyno. Don't waste your time with anything else. You have no idea what program is really on it or how your engine will respond to it.

I agree -- don't chip with a generic "one-fits-all" chip.

This might be an option for you AllMotorMark Chip . Also he is local, and from what I hear does really good tuning.

If you want to run a chipped ecu on your car, you'll need to convert it to obd1 using a conversion harness first. those run like maybe $100. You can then get an ecu from another obd1 car, either a 94-95 gsr and have it plug in and you'll be able to use the secondaries or some places sell ecus (non gsr ecus) that are already chipped with a gsr basemap or bin file.

depending on your modifications, you can sometimes get a basemap that runs well with the modifications you already have without having to get your car tuned. i'm running crome on my chipped ecu, that allows my vtec to kick in at 5200 now and my secondaries open up at 5300 that is more suited for my ctr cam, along with full throttle launch and a shift light (check engine light).

what modifications do you have that makes you feel you need to have your car chipped. a spoon ecu should only be used on a spoon race motor and if you run one on your car its going to wreck it.

hope some of this helps.

p.s. if anyone is looking for a reputable tuner with credentials that will give them great results, let me know and i'll have my buddy matt come up and tune your car with crome. he just did an 13.5:1 LS VTEC with ITR cams that put out an extra 30 hp after tuning.
