Default Will 205/60/17's fit on my rim?

I've got 17" rims on my car, currently wrapped in 205/40/17 summer tires. Im getting a deal on a pair of tires, but they are 205/60/17. Would they be fine on my rims? The car is lowered..so would rubbing be an issue? Thanks.

how about 205/50/17's? Is there any leeway at all with these #'s? looking for a set of winter tires for the teg..

205/50/17 will still be too big.

Here's a tire size calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Put you stock tire size on one side (195/55/15 I believe) and the size in question on the other.

The most important thing is to keep the overall DIAMETER as close to stock as possible.

I HIGHLY recommend against putting snow tires on 17" rims. I won't get into my tire rant again, but it'll cost you more to buy 17" snow tires than it would to buy 14" snow tires AND a set of 14" steelies off kijiji. And the 14" snow tires will perform MUCH better than the 17" snows.

Just sayin...

I hear you on the 14" steelies..just worried about the car being too low with the smaller wheel. I cant afford to raise it atm, and just want to make it a bit better for myself for the winter.

Eufff. Wouldnt Stay 14s or 15s for winter tires.....period. Besides, in toronto it doesnt even snow anymore loool. Last year I was tucking at one point on 14's in the snow and I barely ran into issues. So if youre staying at stock height then 14's or 15's would be perfect

^ This year is going to be hell if nobody told you.. Why the ---- are you even running your lowered integra in the winter, unless its already rusted as ----. Go with 14/15 inch if you are. being lowered, 205/40/17 will already sort of rub when cornering.

You guys are right, I'm gonna start looking into 15" steelies/ winters.

and as for why i drive my lowered teg in the winter, its a $3000 FWD honda. We may love our cars to death but gotta be realistic. parking your $3000 honda for the winter is excessive IMO...its a cheap car. Unless of course you have thousands invested into your car.

How will the car be any lower than it is if you keep the diameter of your tires as close to stock as possible? If the diameter is the same, the ride hieght is the same.

I drove my civic slammed 2-2.5" for 4 years through everything without any major issues. And I live up near newmarket on the edge of the snow belt in the middle of nowhere. lol Just make sure you undercoat your car and get a GOOD set of dedicated snow tires designed for winter (NOT all-seasons) and you'll be fine.

MPR is right, your overall wheel diameter should NEVER change and should always be as close to stock as possible, so even if you run a smaller 14 or 15" steelie with winter tires, the sidewall will be bigger probably around 50-60 to make up the same gap if you had 17" rims with a 35-40 sidewall.

Keep the diameter the same and use the website he showed you.

Easy there. You have to understand some people have different situations and many choose to run lowered cars through the winter, myself included.

Honestly though, 14 or 15 inch is your best bet for the winter. Arguably these give you the best performance on our cars, and are the most cost effective too

Get some 24" mud rims and tires...lol kidding but Ya i would def go with 14-15" rims and snows...if your car is lowered on sepearte shocks and springs did you have the chance of putting your old stock suspension or be able to get your hands on if you are worried about being lowered... if you don't running lowered will be fine in the snow just do all the prep work before the snow hits here such as rust proofing (if you care)...and some of us store our tegs such as me such that I have invested thousands into it lol.
