Default Water Pump, Timing Belt charge?

Hi,

Is $400 for water pump & timing belt change expensive??

What is the avrg price to change both those items.??

Inlcuding labour... id say thats almost cheap. I just got both done on Thursday. Im looking at parts plus 250 labour.

$400 is including labour.
That sounded expensive so I thought I'll ask you guys here.

I wish I can do it myself, but I don't the tools nor a big enough garage or driveway.

Whos car was it that you guys tried to do? Was it yours or Mikes... after a 3 foot pipe extension and 3 guys, one of the bolts wouldnt budge. I figured id give it to my shop and it would be done while Im working...

Its done... and thats what I needed.

Got no help really... Me myself and I... So giving it to my mechanic might have been the better choice.

Hahaha, naw that wasn't the problem. It turns out the mastercrap extensions were flexing underneath all the stress, so no torque was going onto the bolt.

Solution, bought two impact driver extentions and had Amanda sit inside and hold down the brake. Me outside with my 24" breaker bar and I didn't even move it 6" and the bolt broke lose.

BTW this was on my car. Everything runs fine to my knowledge, no different than before. Just gotta make sure you line up the oil pump and cam gears then ur pretty much set.

I took my car to Chicago and back and no problems.

Going to check my valve lash tonight too.

Oh and it was mine and Glenn's. The extension was 5 feet. LOL
