water leakage in DC teg

hey guys im new on here and just wondered about this thing i have

i have a 96 teg... it seems as tho water is leaking somewhere cuz the carpet on the driver side is all wet...

is this a common problem?

i think i might have to remove the entire dash just to find where this leak is comming from. It'll be hard to find because its not a full leak... looks like it drips or something. When it rained i tried looking at the place but i didnt see any water dripping..

any ideas?

its prolly the same problem the DA's had. The seals underneath wiper cowl have rotted away. They're not that much at the dealer or you can silicone them I guess.

My friends 94 EG has the same problem. Also happens to cars that have been involved in a front end accident.

how would you find out where the leak is coming from?
because i know it starts at the front of the carpet and now it has soaked the back carpet as well. i hate this ----.

It's a common problem with the 92/95 Civics. Check this link:

http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...threadid=69045

It may or not be the same with the Integras, but it's worth a look. I have to do this on my Civic because the floor has been flooded since last winter. If I get a chance to this weekend, I'll post up some pics and maybe a how-to.

There's many places for water to leak.

-Check both sunroof drain tubes
-Wiper Cowl silicone
-Weather stripping
-Windsheild stripping

so if i check where the wiper cowl is... thats just the removal of the black plastic peice on the exteriro side where the wipers are?

thanks again for the help guys.....

and the how to thing is much appreciated....

Ok, I just finished *hopefully* fixing this problem in my Civic.

Here's the driver's front with the fender off:

Here's a shot of the inner fender inside that elongated hole - note the rust along the seam:

The upper fender just underneath the windshield, near the A-pillar - look for the crack that's in that darker spot (kind of hard to see):

I used this tube of silicone that I used previously on the roof drain rails to stop the leaking in the trunk of my Civic - yeah, the car has its problems with leaks :) :

I basically just put gobs of the silicone on the cracks:

As well as on the inner fender inside that hole:

Hopefully this helps solves the problem. I swear, the puddle of water in the car was HUGE. The carpet and floor mats are still soaked and I doubt they'll dry off since it's not hot any more.

Hope this helps.
