valve cover help
 
i just need someone to explain to me on how to take my valve cover off.. wut i need to do.. remove spark plugs, wires etc... i m going to paint my valve cover cuz the black stuff is pealing off... or do u guys think i should just take it to da garage and let them do it? is it hard to do?? need help thanks

leave the spark plugs in, just pull the wires out. remove all the nuts you can see on top of the valve cover and lift it up. it doesn't get much more simple. when you put it back on put a bit of honda bond silicone sealer in the corners where the gasket meets the sharp corners around the cam seals. i wouldn't just paint it though, you should get it powdercoated.

wut bout the gasket? i was told that i would need to replace it if i took the valve cover off is that true?

Ya, you might as well replace it if you're taking the Valve Cover off. If it's never been changed before, chances are it needs to be. Taking off the VC and re-using the old gasket might lead to oil leaks after. It's like $20 from the dealer.

Also, you might want to take your spark plugs out too and look at your chamber seals to see if they are leaking any oil in as well.
