USDM OEM Foglight Switch Wiring

So I wired up my JDM fogs to a simple switch from Canadian Tire. It has just a Negative and Positive lead.

Can I wire it up to a USDM Integra Foglight switch? I know there are a lot more wires coming out of the switch.

Anyone have any experience with this?

ThanX.

Tony yes you can, there are 3 wires on the usdm switch. and i'm looking at my switch right now :p

one is a ground, one is for power switched, and the other is for the indicator.

That's what sparked my question, I saw you added the switch to your FS thread. I have a ghetto switch rigged up right now and a blank hole in my ITR Armrest console. So i'm thinking maybe this is a sign :yeah:

Does the indicator line have to be hooked up? Or will the switch function just with the Positive/Negative hooked up?

Thanks.

it should work without the indicator..
but the more i look at it and think about it.

it works like this..
ground.... positive from a constant source... and lastly postive towards the fogs..
as the fogs has a grounding point on them at there end as well.

Yes it would work with an oem switch. Basically the oem switch is broken into three seperate things.

Power
Ground
Illumination

Power is from a 12v source
Ground is just that, Ground
Illumination is just another 12v I believe, it's to make the led turn on in the switch.
