Default Type R exhaust on a GSR

Good day,

Need some help with the exhaust on my 94 GSR. The mid pipe has rusted trough and makes noise. Some ppl suggest buying an aftermarket mid pipe from Canadian Tire, others say to get a custom exhaust system elsewhere. My own choice would be an oem 97 Type R exhaust (wanna change the whole thing), especially new oem parts are available to me almost at cost.

Now my questions are:
1)Will a 97 Type R exhaust fit my 94 GSR without alterating anything?
2)Will a Type R exhaust be the best solution?

Thanks a lot.

1. no, the pipes connecting your exhaust manifold is different lengths. the muffler itself will bolt right up though.
2. imo, no. but it depends on what you want for your car.

performance-wise...there's always going to be better aftermarket exhaust systems

What would the price be for that? I can get an oem Type R mid pipe+muffler set up for $460+tax.

I didn't wanna go all the way to the manifold. Will the mid pipe fit into the stock 94GSR cat converter?

I hardly see how spending 460+ tax is saving you money. Go get a new pipe installed at Zoro for $200

I didn't say it saved me money I said I could buy oem parts at wholesale price.

But anyhow seems like getting an aftermarket piece would be the best way to go.
