Default Trunk Light Problems

Hey Guys, perhaps you've had this problem or can direct me to a link of some sort.

Here is the issue:
1998 Integra GS. When I open the trunk lid from the rear using the latch, the trunk should release from the strike and open up. The trunk light should also turn on. Well, the light sparingly flickers on after the trunk lid is open. Sometimes it doesn't turn on unless I move the latch release a few times to get some voltage or something to get the light to turn on. :confused

Any ideas?

Solution to what I have done:
1. Check fuses
2. replaced light bulb
3. removed trunk light cover and check for fitment and loose wires.

Not sure what to do. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If the switch was bad, then the light would not even come on then??

you said you move the latch release and it comes on, thats saying most likely something in the switch is sticking in the off position therefore a switch
