Re: Rust repair help
I know the trunk rust is known for integras same as the rocker panels. Usually the trunk floor people get it reweleded with whole new metal. As for the rocker panel depends how bad it is bit could get fixed up. Body work does get pricey thou just keep that in mind.

Ya Marlo is right...welding is not that difficult, it's not easy by any means either. But if you got a sturdy hand it can be done. It wont look good but practice on two pieces of metal before.
Also I think to rent a welder it won't cost you that much either you can get some little ones that are 110W and do the work perfectly.

Re: Rust repair help
Do NOT try and weld it yourself. Not to be a d!ck but you WILL fail. Working with such thin metal, it warps very easy. You end up covering everything with bondo and it will all chip away. Welding is hard, infact, its very hard. I've welded quite a bit in past several years, and i would not, in any way take on such job. You will need to bend/shape and cut to exact size which will not be easy, on top of it all, rocker is a structural support and in case of an accident, it will not act as it should. Either get it done professionally, or better yet, if you feel like you could achieve more mechanically, pull the engine and transmission out, part out the car, scrap the shell and buy an integra or a civic with a blow engine or something. Will cost you less for the shell than to fix this. I'm sure for 1500$ you could find a decent looking shell that doesn't have such rot, then swap the GSR in and you are set. It would be a lot easier and cheaper.
