timing belt
hey guys i know someone here knows the answer to this. i installed a new tbelt and tensioner on my b18c1 and i get the perfect tension on the cam to water pump side but on the cam to crank side its not quite tight enough, ive tried going through the tension sequence a few times and checked all the pulleys for looseness. ive followed mitchell for the tension procedure witch is loosen tensioner bolt 180 then turn engine counter clockwise 6 times for tension. but then i was reading another manual that says to loosen the tensioner bolt 180 then crank engine counter clockwise till cams are 3 teeth from tdc. like i said cant get the tension i like on the one side, im not sure what im doing wrong and was wondering if anyone knows the proper procedure

Re: timing belt
What I usually used to do was set it straight, then turn counter clock wise till slack goes away, tighten tensioner and spin engine over to check.
Also, I had a b20 belt from Honda that was defective. Couldn't get it straight, so compare to old belt to compare if nothing works.

Re: timing belt
Usually when i do it, the crank and came aren't dead on aligned. Most of the time, the crank is a Tad to the right past the mark, and i mean like a mm or two and exhaust cam is slightly off with right marker below the deck of the head. So when i turn counter clock wise it all straightens out.
