stereo help :(
ok, so after I got the car and drove it around for a couple of days, I noticed that some of the speakers wernt working properly. I took the subs out so I can test the speakers out.
As it turns out, the front left and right speakers, and the rear passenger speakers are always on and off.
I'm pretty sure this is a wire connection problem
I have narrowed the wire problem down to the back of the head unit. As the head unit is aftermarket, I don't know how to take the head unit out to check the wiring on the back.
Anyone know a lot about installing/removing head units that could help a brother out?

I can give you a step-by-step simple procedure.
1. Remove the head-unit trim. Should just clip off
2. Use a very small/skinny flat head screw driver.
3. Their should be a small crack between the head unit and the exterior dash, within this space is where you have to get at.
4. Fish the flat-head screwdriver very gently thru the small crack as to not damage the unit.
5. When the space is slightly increased it should give you enough room/space to see the clips that are "BENT" upwards into another metal bracket that is screwed to the entire dash - purpose of this is to prevent sliding and as a security measure to protect the unit from completely falling out when drive
6. There are two on the top and two on the bottom, you must bend these flat "DOWN" back towards the head unit
7. To make this easier to see and a better way to work with it, remove the screws that hold up the dash panel simly just come off giving easier access to wiring, etc.
8. Once you've bent these clips back into the unit it should come right out.
Alternative method.
- Depending on your type of head unit, there may simply be screws in the front you can undo in which it can slide out on the aftermarket bracket.
- I find with most DVD players this is seen, most CD/MP3 units don't, and the first method given is really the only way.

Unfortunately that only works if the head unit has been slid into the mounting bracket it came with. If thats the case, it'd be much easier to just use some keys to slide the head unit out of the bracket, then bending the tabs back down.
Of course that won't help him either if someone has actually screw mounted the deck in any place.
Pics of deck in the car might help... Or if Hamilton is closer than Brampton for you, lol....

a lil update:
So I managed to get the deck out, but than I cant find the loose wiring. There is this plug that goes into the back of the deck, if I move that whole bunch of wires around, different speakers will come on. It looks like to be the harness that connects to all the speakers of the car. Should I just go and buy a new harness?
