Default Speedo not working

Hey my speedo isnt working, and my cluster isnt lighting up, when i drive for about 5 mins my engine light comes on, but when i turn the car off and turn it back on the light goes off then comes back after a few mins of driving ,im assuming this is cuz the speedo isnt reading? :S i could be wrong, but i cant find the fuse for that if we have one, does anyone know where it could be? i probably over looked it
its on a 93 tegg any help would be great!!

93s are mechanical, unless you changed your tranny. But check that the speedo is plugged in securely to your tranny.. Maybe even pull it out and make sure it didn't break inside.

The check engine light is due to speedo cable. Check if the cable is secure on the transmission and pluged in good in the cluster.
I had the same problem.

check the cable and the VSS. if you pull back the carpet on the passenger floor, your ecu should blink 1 long 7 short that's a code 17 - vehicle speed sensor.

the VSS is a pretty straight forward part to replace, it's 1 10mm bolt. getting at it is a little trickier.

Yeah mine lags now too both accelerating and slowing down. Sounds like this is a common Teggy issue so I'd start the hunt with the VSS and cable too.

I pulled the vss out of the tranny and put it back it, looks fine to me, but i may have unplugged my cluster, but i cant get to the back of my cluster to check cuz i cant get the trim off infront of it, on my dash i get everything to pop off except around the ***** for my fan speed and temp. :S

pull the **** rings off and that plate showing the fan speed and temp pops out. there's 2 screws under there and then at the far right there's a little cover. that pops off and there's another screw under there. once to get that panel off there's 2 screws at the top of the cluster take those out too. it's a real pain in the *** to reconnect it. there's no slack in the cable you pretty much have to reach back there by going through where your left dash vent would be and do it by feel. if you disconnect the cable at the VSS it'll be easier to do but in almost every case you'll loss the clip that holds the cable in to the VSS.

yes i've done this a few times. i hope you have skinny arms

Okay so i think i found out my problem...i think, well theres a fuse box under the hood, theres a 50amp fuse in there thats for "lights" duno what lights but its blown didnt notice it at first cuz its just a really small peice, so im going to acura today to get more, but i got another problem, i unhooked my ground cable from my battery cuz my power cable is hard to get at cuz of my intake, so now everytime i try to put on my ground cable it trys to melt its self to the battery post, :S its never done that b4
