Default sounds like metal smushing

Ok so on my 2K DC2 teg i have been hearing this awful metal rattling sound. I hear it in the lower gears at slightly higher rpm. someone told me that it could be my heat shield vibrating but it seems secure. its rather loud and embarrassing.

is there a common problem i dont know about?

It very well could be a heat shield rattling around. It's hard to say what it is with out seeing the car. I'd have no problem looking at it for you Stacey if you'd like.

Most likely you have more than one heat shield. I'm sure it's nothing serious. No harm bringing it to a shop to take a look at.

It does sound like a heat shield bolt could be loose near the bottom but like spike said hard to decide what it is without actually hearing it yourself and seeing it. GL

had the same problem on my old 94. it was the heat shield just above the cat. there is more than one shield under the car, so it could be any one of them.

ya sounds like a heat shield, but last time i heard rattling and thought it was my heat shield turned out it was my resonator, the bafflers were lose inside... so could be that too
