that is not your intake btw

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 12:47 PM

oops my bad. exhaust mani

XNXIXTXRXOX 03-20-2010 01:43 PM

thats just an exhaust leak. i had that all i did was put some of that liquid weld stuff on it and it worked perfectly. the reason the car smells like fumes is cus its pulling those fumes into the cabin. thats a really easy fix.

Spike 03-20-2010 02:29 PM

Yeah just looks like a leak, replace the gasket that should be there.

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 02:44 PM

i just got a brand new exhaust mani gasket

XNXIXTXRXOX 03-20-2010 03:38 PM

then just use that like "cold weld" stuff. it works fine and fixes it. i did this on my stock b16a manifold, at the exact same spot.

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 03:39 PM

I got a new header and exhaust. but i wont be installing till end of summer.

I have a b18b1 header. will it fit

D.T.P 03-20-2010 04:28 PM

well isnt the motor b18b1 anyways? lol
they all fit.

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 04:36 PM

yea but the headers were already in the engine bay attatched to the exhaust

AcuratePaul 03-20-2010 04:41 PM

just get my b18b headers on it the bolts that attach to the exhaust from the header will be a bitch thou i snaped mine which are prob on the header lol

D.T.P 03-20-2010 05:07 PM

weld it all shut. lol quick and flawless repair.
Love having a welder at home :P

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 05:28 PM

ya its gona b a bitch to put the b18b1 headers on.

and i dont wana weld them shut. cuz i got new headers, so i wont be able to take them off :P

AcuratePaul 03-20-2010 05:30 PM

weld them off again lol.

D.T.P 03-20-2010 05:31 PM

only one header, and a plasma cutter is fun to use too ;) hahaha

you cannot weld off. come on now.
must be cut if you weld proper and get a lot of penetration.

i used a plazma cutter b4. so fun lmao.

AcuratePaul 03-20-2010 05:36 PM

Ya my dad did the welding on my hatch we cover then back window but still got some burn marks in my window glad it didnt crack thou, but its not noticeable thank god.

D.T.P 03-20-2010 05:39 PM

Back on topic, Anthony, just weld it and dont even replace the oem header. all problems will be solved.

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 05:40 PM

ill get my mechanic to do it. i dont have a welder. will probably coarge me 20$. or free when i go do my suspension and break system with him

AcuratePaul 03-20-2010 05:41 PM

true but it sucks that you gotta do this even thou your getting a new header

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 05:43 PM

yea cuz i wont be putting that stuff in that i told you for a long time.

AcuratePaul 03-20-2010 05:48 PM

true. well i still say put the b18b header on it unless the b18a is the exact same thing then no point to switch em'.

We only replaced the one from the head to the exhaust mani

Do this.. You're gunna be scrapping that mani if you install headers anyways so you can just chop up that mani to get it out of the car..

JDM_overdose 03-20-2010 09:32 PM

I dont wanna chop anything. I want to unbolt stuff and do it the proper way. Ill just put the b18b1 headers on for now

Burfy 03-21-2010 03:22 PM

If you're replacing parts with new things, you can chop the living balls out of the old part because it's useless :P And don't put on the b18b mani unless you're converting to obd-1 because you'll have to relocate your obd-0 o2 sensor to way downstream of the exhaust and it'll cause misfiring because it won't be hot enough to work when warming up. Your o2 sensor doesn't start working properly until it's stupid hot - 600F/316C
