Serious Problem!!
Ok well on my drive to work this morning around 10am, i hear a loud pop and bang in my engine compartment, but everything was still driving fine so i figured ill check it when i get to work. I got to work and i parked and turned off the engine and i looked inside and everything seemed fine so i said w.e. But all this morning till now its been plaguing my mind cuz i dont know what it was, so i decided to go outside and turn on my car and check it out again. As the engine is warming up im hearing a rattling and smelling something burning, i open my hood and see ------ sparks the size of my ***** flying at me. So i immediately turned off my car and went to go take a look.
So apparently w.e pulley that was popped off its nut and started dancing in between my A/C pulley and my Crank pulley...WTF!!
here is the pulley after i took it out which i cut my hands and fingers pulling a cherry picking mission inside my engine bay....
So question i want to know is, is this for my A/C or something, cuz everything seems to be working fine, i never had a belt on my A/C compressor anyways cuz the last owner had it snap on him, but ya just wondering if its serious or not?
BTW my A/C pulley is still there, as u can see in the pic, the larger one on the left, do A/C's have two pulleys?

Yea basically that pully reduces the amount of HP on your car, because the engine's pully system has to go thru another pully to the AC in which it has to pull in a rotation. You reduce that by removing it, then you just simply shorten the amount the belt travels and the weight it has to pull. So it will increase the amount of power your engine has, thats why so many people tend to drive without A/C.

^thats what im worried about, ive been looking underneath for a while but it seems to be ok, i dont see anything bent or mangled, but ill keep an ear open for more pops and snaps... mmmmm kellogs rice krispies....
i think i know why the A/C belt snapped on the old owner, the idler pulley is completely seized, wont turn whatsoever.
