yikes. i did it on mine cuz i got t-boned and my friend at the shop got a scrap type r and put the door and quarter panel on my car. and had to remove to molding on the other side so it matched. anyways im not too sure but i watched a little. there's plastic clips once u remove the molding and there's about 5 square holes. he weld little metal pieces to cover the holes and hammer it down to make ti flush and cover it with body filler and sand it down. then primed and paint. i dunno if this helped or anything. if anyone know a better way. feel free to post.

yeah, i know what u mean. i used to help out at the shop and some cars just use very sticky 2-way tape and it does the job. i wouldnt do it unless its done professionally. i helped out and im not too great at body work and i try.. but when the square holes used to be. i see little paint bubble coming through. maybe little rust is coming in from there or something. i only did it cuz i had to to make it look even. other than that i wont. but its ur choice if u want a type r look. too much work i'd say

Ya the moldings are held on by clips and you have to remove the interior pannels to access the clips from the inside. And than they just pop out I believe. Haven't done this yet but I will be and I have removed my interior pannels and I am able to see the clips from there.

i removed mine last summer with fuzzylsbro and had them painted...there are about 5 clips per side. Some come out easier than others so you may have to use a bit of force to pull them out. Pliers are definitly the best way to remove them. Once you do that, its wise to clean out the sides and spray rust proof agent. In case of rust, do a quick wet sand around the rusted areas and use a bit of primer.
