Some of us are ----, I am to a certain degree. Does anyone have any secret special tips to prepare your car for winter?. I mean anything really from paint, to underbody to engine bay to carpet and interior. I'm doing an undercoat and a nice thick coat of wax. Painted some suspension components and did some cleaning underneath.

 

Park it Done and Done

If that's not an option...ya.. Undercoat, underbody and in panels.
Also don't let the car sit covered in road salt and dirt too often, never any good for the paint!

-EDIT- And tell ppl to bang the snow off their effing feet b4 they get in the car... ---- that pisses me off......

here's a question for you guys, i'm parking my car in the garage for the first time this year, however in the middle to the end of winter, i'll be putting in this new boosted motor, so i'm wondering about the gas situation. do i store it with a full tank with the fuel stabel ---- or do i drain the tank? reason being is that i really really don't want ---- gas going through this new motor.

 

you put fuel stablizer in it, fill the tank and it's good for 6 months. or at least that's what the directions say...

i'm parking mine for the winter. full tank with fuel stabilizer and a weather proof car cover.

 

yea fuzzy use fuel stab!!!!!! thas what im doin!

 

Put fuel stabilizer in the tank with half tank of gas in. Then when you are going to put the new motor in, take off the lines from the fuel pump, add some new lines going to a gas can and hook up a 12 volt source and the gas will pump out of the tank into the can. When it is all empty put fresh gas in the tank, attach back the lines then disconnect the lines at the fuel rail and into a bucket. Then turn the key from acc. to on about 10 times and it will purge the old gas out until you see the clear new stuff. Then attach back the lines and all of the old gas is out.

 

or just run it nearly dry and drain it, if you dont plan on starting it while it's parked, once motor is in fill a gas can and you're set, most simple way i can see

 

or you can just remove the drain bolt.
