Default Power Windows and Locks?

I don't know why I wrote Automatic Windows and Locks.. I meant Power Windows and locks.

Alright.. so before I bought my car the previous owner had to replace the driver side door on the car (1994 Integra LS), and bought a 97 teg door.. the door is installed.. but for some reason when you connect the cable's to the power lock and power windows in the door panel they still don't work (Door panel is from the old door, and the controls worked before we changed it) lol. Also the passenger door control's don't work either, but they should as they've never been touched and I know they worked before this door was replaced. So do both door controls have to be working for one of them to work? And.. any ideas on electrical.. cause I'm completely lost when it comes to any of that stuff.

If you've got any helpful suggestions lemme know, otherwise I'm just gonna take it to an electrical guy and have him fix it.. last thing I need to do is start ------ with fuses and the car doesn't start.

When I had my driver side door panel off ( power window wire unhooked), my passenger side power windows wouldn't work either. But when I reconnect the power window wire on the drivers side, the passenger side will work again. So most likely your passenger side is good.

Yeah that's what I thought, but why wouldn't the same panel work again when I plug it in? The only new part is the actual metal part of the door.. the panels are the same from before.

I actually just did some work on my power windows today. Integra12 is correct, in the same manner how you can lockout the passenger side power windows from the drivers side with the switch, if you don't have driver's side controls connected in effect it's the same thing, the circuit's incomplete and the passenger side doesn't work.

As for the power locks, I can't advise as I'm not sure what's going on there, and they're on a separate circuit so far as I can tell.

Good luck!

Yeah, but what could be the problem? Why won't they work now when I plug them in..? They are the same 2 panels that came with the car originally, just re-plugging the driver side in after like 2-3 months..

i just put my doors off a 97 on a 95 and the wireharness where totally differant, i had to swap out the harness and wire up windows and mirrors. my door locks are aftermarket so i knew my wiring for those, just had to drill a whole threw harness to run my wires for front component set, are you sure the new door has power door locks still and nobody salvaged them before yuo did, the actuators are located on the handle itself inside the door mine where white plastic that i removed.. do you have a multi meter?

The new doors wires are exactly the same to plug it in.. and the wires fit perfectly into the socket in the door panel so I'm not sure why they don't work.

I'm driving around in a greenhouse atleast yesterday it felt like that..!!....

possibly cook a fuse? i'd check that first. then look to see if maybe you didn't knock a connection loose in the door when you swapped it over. current tester could help

Any idea which fuse it could be or know where I can find out which ones? I know next to nothing about electrical.

The fuse box is under your dash on the driver side of the car. You'll see it there when you remove the little cover that comes off, and it will say what fuse is what.

cooked relay maybe too. yeah just look on the drivers side under the dash. there is a little cover where the fuse panel is. the lid should have a diagram telling you what is what.

Wow, my friend plugged in the wire to the door backwards.. I was looking at it today and had a "Well that doesn't look right" moment.. Problem solved, automatic windows working.. Greenhouse Effect defeated.

It's always that there's so many simple things that you look at and think "there's no way that can be wrong" and sure enough,

"Well there's your problem"
