Planning on purchasing a cross drilled and slotted rotors...Need some opinions
Hey guys, long time non-active member here but I'm planning to change that.
I'm thinking of purchasing this brake kit on ebay:

idk, maybe these
Brembo Brake Rotors (F&R Set) : 1990-2001 Acura Integra - (eBay.ca item 320357852641 end time 17-Apr-09 12:05:49 EDT)
and some hawk hps pads, seems to be a good combo, that works well. if you want even better setup you can get some ss line and some MOTUL RBF600 brake fliud

thanks for the tip. However I do have one question: If you can spend more on one thing, would you do it on the pads or rotors? The reason why I'm asking is because I can't afford all the name brand items at the moment and now I'm forced to compromise one part for another

Don't even bother with that crap unless you're trying to score points at a car show. Slotted/drilled rotors are prone to warping, cracking, and provide little to no extra performance. Been there, done that.
Spend the money on Pads and fluid if you're looking for a decent brake upgrade.
Some good, easily attainable pads:
Hawk Performance: HP Plus and Autocross Brake Pads
EBC Brakes | Redstuff Automotive Brake Pads Product Selector | 3000 Series | Highly Tuned and Fast Street Cars
Axxis ULT Ceramic Brake Pads: buybrakes.com
Fluid:
Motul RBF600 Factory Line DOT 4 Racing Brake Fluid .5 Liter/16.9 floz.: buybrakes.com
Go to NAPA and get some generic brake rotors. They work great on and off the track. If you're really picky, go get some Brembo blank rotors.
Spend the money on Pads and fluid if you're looking for a decent brake upgrade.

theres no point in getting cross drilled or slotted rotors if your only dd the car, even if you occasionaly track the car its not worth the money for the performance you get, i wouldn't buy them, just get brembo blanks or oem if you have to replace them

cross drilled or slotted rotors are good if u plan on doing a lot of racing and if u don't cheap out and get a good set the will not warp or crack, been using them for years and never had them crack or warp unless u get a cheak set,

Edit - BTW, I'm not a fan of the EBC - I would go with PBR Ceramics - I just put on new rotors and pads, after bedding the pads it'll stand the wife's Accord on its nose

I'm rocking KVR carbon fiber metallic front pads and their slotted front rotors. good combo. they work quite well. they are located in ottawa i believe so shipping is not that bad. when i ordered mine last season they had a sale on rotors so the price wasnt so bad. now it seems everything is back up to regular price. about 100 bucks per rotor and 60-70 for pads.

If you're willing to mail order pads, you might want to check out Cobalt Friction pads.(Cobalt Friction Technologies USA). They have a lot of different compounds to choose from depending on what you need. The track compounds have tremendous bite but don't wear down your rotors like Hawk pads

I used roto tech rotors on mine there crossed drilled and slotted and it stops 30% quicker and I havent had to do a brake job in 3 yrs just services on the sliders you can pick up 4 for about $400 and its a strait swap

What most people don't notice is that there are 1. cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and 2. just cross-drilled rotors. The latter are much more superior.
You ask for proof? Look at any high-end sports cars that come with big brakes. Ferraris, Porsches, Aston Martins, Corvette ZR1, Nissan GTR, etc - the list goes on... They all use cross-drilled rotors, not slotted.
Slotting rotors makes the rigidity of the rotor much lower, so they are a lot more prone to cracking, warping, and stuff like that.
Alllllll this considered, unless your Integra is a BEAST, you don't really need cross-drilled rotors. Just replace the calipers and brake pads, and you'll feel a significant increase in your braking performance.
