is there a safe, and effective way to remove slight overspray on rubber trim peices? i don't wanna try anything crazy like nail polish remover, or gas, so any tips and advice would be great.

 

mask off the metal painted areas and wipe the oversprayed areas with some reducer

 

john go to a sherwin williams paint store and get a fine cut cleaner, it will pull off overspray and is safe on paint, it's about $25 a bottle but you can do your whole car probably about 5 times per bottle

Isopropyl alcohol works best trust me on this one, i'm a aviation painter (paint passenger planes canjet, westjet and so on) anyways it does not harm glass or plastic/rubber and does not remove shine of paint as bad as thinners and the best part you can go to Shoppers to get, its around $4-6 a bottle and works great.
