Lol wait, so its a shop, guessing somebody you know, yet you guys can't get the trans on?

Well its not hard, if the car is on a hoist, just bring the trans up on the stand (since you said it has all tools I'm guessing it has a transmission stand), get it to line up with the block, if the spline is not aligned with the clutch, just twist the transmission so it would line up with the teeth in the clutch. Then push on it, put the bolts in. Easier if you have somebody helping, but not impossible alone. Just make sure the input shaft doesn't rest on the clutch while its not bolted in. Also dowel pins may be a pita, so as long as they are lined up, you can mate both pieces by force of all bolts that hold it.

If that made any sense, hope it helps.

Just experienced this while replacing my clutch recently... by myself...lol.

Getting the trans back on was difficult, though not impossible.

I'm assuming this is a manual trans. In that case, you have to make sure the input shaft of the trans perfectly lines up with the center of the clutch plate. If you replaced the clutch, I'm assuming you used a clutch alignment tool. If you didn't, Unbolt the pressure plate and re-install the clutch using the alignment tool.

Make sure the trans is LEVEL and in line with the engine. If not, you could do serious damage to the clutch. DO NOT let the trans hang once it's gone in until you have all the trans bolts installed.

If I could do it on my own with nothing but jack stands and a couple floor jacks in my garage, then you definitely could in a fully equiped shop. Just be patient and pay close attention to what you're doing.

Good luck.
