Hey guys/Girls,

I just baught a lip off a neighbourhood vendor and I seen to be having a bitch of a time makin it fit. I think I've tried everything at this point and it just won't go.... any ideas or should I bring it out to a meet?

and there are a few gaps on the front. I was thinking of gring down a few spots on the lip to help with fitment but not sure if I should.

That looks like a replica of the USDM 98+ Type-R/OEM Optional lip.

Was that lip designed for the G2? If not, then you got to cut it down a bit, from the looks of it. I know Steeb (Dolechy) has the lip that's fitted for the G2.

I got it from optionJDM and theres a sticker on the inside that says for 90-91 Integras *Made in Taiwan*. I was also wondering if heating the lip with a heat gun would improve flexibility and make it easier to work with?

well that does look like the 90-91 g2 lip, just for the people who don't know....just like the 94-97 and 98-01 the front bumpers for a 90-91 and 92-93 are different...but judging from your photos, seems the lip is too short at each side where its suppose to wrap around the bumper....i had a bitch of a time trying to get my 92-93 type R lip on also...you shouldn't have to grind it down or anything to make it fit.....my only suggestion would be to bolt one washer from each side starting at the outside edges and work your way in, don't tighten the bolts all the way just play around with it till it fits...and then the lip should kind of shape out and you'd be able to drill in the sides, if all else fails, give john lo a call and ask for other lip?..maybe its defective..but lol what do you expect its abs plastic and its from taiwan....but good luck with the lip. and yeah and i don't think the lip overlaps the bumper its suppose 2 go under

Thanks Jimmy. I'd ask for another lip but it was the last one . Also I don't wanna start grinding it than give it back but I'd like to have it on by tonight. I've tried doing it one bolt at a time and it did help but as you see in the second and third pic that's as far as I got. About it overlapping the bumper that's the way it's sitting on it's own. Anyone have pics of this lip on their car?

that sucks that its the last one. yeah don't grind it down i don't think you suppose to or need to, i know what you mean by wanting to have it on right away. well my lip was hanging at the edge of each side, when i was done tighting my lip and i had to drill holes to hold up my sides that wrap around each side. and about the bolts yeah its one at a time but not from one side to the other, its one at each side and work your way towards the middle then tighten them all up. anyway as long as its not hanging and u tighten up all the bolts you should be fine, the fitment i just think isn't all that great. even my lip fitment is a bit off, but i don't think any1 has the 91 type R lip on good luck CJ....

^^Did you actually drill the side of the lip onto the side of the bumper or around the wheel well?
