Need help guys, B20 in EF misfiring
Well, i have a problem and need some options or maybe someone could point out something im missing.
I currently own a 1990 EF hatch and it has/had a B16A swapped into it. Everything ran fine. Engine was strong and there were ZERO problems. I found a B20 for cheap and a buddy really wanted my B16A...so i sold it to him(i needed the money). Swapped out the B16A and swapped in the B20 on Sunday. Here are some key points...
-B20 is a OBD-2 motor
-Came out of a wrecked OBD-1 Integra.
-B20 came with OBD-1 alternator, OBD-1 dizzy and OBD-1 partial harness
-My civic has OBD-0 harness but was running a P28 and OBD-1 software for the B16A
-We swapped my harness into the B20
-B20 Crank pulley was broken bad, so we swapped it with the B16A pulley
-Ran a PR4 ECU and a chipped ECU on B20 software....no difference.
-Cant drive it cause it bucks hard and wont stop backfiring
At first the car would crank but not turn over. Swapped dizzys from a working EG civic and she fired up and idled very smooth. After 5 minutes the will car misfire and when you put load on it, will backfire out of the air intake! WTF?
We cant check the timing cause the crank pulley is smaller than the B20 so the marks are off. We played with the timing but the same ---- happened.....popping once or twice out of the intake. More load, more popping.
Any help would be great,
Thanks,

Hey dude, try giving John a call... He might have some insight. His number's 905-265-2132. Tell him you're a friend of mine.
He's been around many engines, both running solid and otherwise, if theres anyone i know that will have any ideas its him.
Good luck buddy, i hope you can get it sorted out soon

Will have to give it some thought. Would be easier to diagnose being able to see the car in person...

Well, Martin and I got her running and ripping hard!
Martin and I went back to basics and did a "tune-up" found on cylinder number 4 a water damaged plug. The 3 others were "like new" with shinny metal around the necks, the crap plug was brownish around the neck. all and all, shes fixed and i have alot of people to thank.
First and foremost and BIG THANKS goes out to Martin! Helped me by driving my sorry *** from work to his place (at least 45mins) 2 days in a row to fix my ---- box lol. The EG held strong.... MINT BRO! LOL! Did alot of the engine install and troubleshooting and he never gave up. Cant say enough about him and the DTP crew.
Thanks to David for wrenching on the ride and givin us some laughs. BIG props to David(Vida) for stopping by, sharing good times, fixin up my ride and throwing my some much needed parts from his old Teg! Persia for dropping in and sharing some much needed knowledge and workin on my ride. Marlo, my man.... always a riot when you stop by. Thanks to Paul for showing up and lending a hand, glad your teg is up and running strong! And a BIG thanks to My girl Maggie, she took pics and weathered the cold for as long as she could....then left faster than martins EG hahahaha!!!!
Once again guys... THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I couldnt have done it with out you.
DTP! REPRESENT! mint bro...mint!
