well first off check all youre timing marks make sure everything lines up when you turn the crank to TDC. the engine is an interference engine so that means one of the valves could have been bent when the belt broke, i got lucky with mine i bought it with broken belt and ran fine after. you can probably do a comp test to see if one or more of the cylinders got comp, if not youre probably gunna have to pull the head off and replace all the valves while youre there.

yah just double check, i just did a gsr swap and the timing was off 2 teeth on the cams and it wouldnt start it has to be almost perfect, cams should be so the "UP" on the cams is almost straight up as well as the 2 marks on the cams should line up with each other and the top of the head

Dont bother with compression test. If it ran normally after belt swap with no hiccups, your compression is sufficient. Check for spark. These distributors like to die out of nowhere. The transistor burns out for switching ground on/off and you get no spark.

Does the engine crank normally? If there was a compression issue, it would turn over slower and or sound like oone of the oscilations is longer...
