Default Launch controller....

i'm fooling around with the idea of getting a launch controller. basically i want to be able to hold down a button so that it's like bouncing off of fuel cut at 3000rpm. then i can dump the clutch, wait for traction and let go of the button and take it to redline.

i know that the MSD digital 6 has a launch controll, aswell as hondata. but MSD ignition is crap and no point in getting hondata when i'll be tuning with chrome. anyone know of a unit that i can use just for the launch controll?

It's a built in feature in crome and is burned with the chip.

I believe it cuts ignition or fuel...depending on what you choose.

It's RPM and speed based.

yes thats a plug-in you can add to the ROM with crome.
How it works....under 5mph the rev limit is set to what you have inputted into the launch control box. I have mine set to 4k on my b16. Then once you start moving (going over 5mph) it reverts back to the regular rev limit (whatever you have inputted into the rev limit box).
No switches or boxes necessary, just a chipped ecu.
The same plug-in adds full throttle shift and a check engine light shift light.
If you need help with a chipped ecu or chip for yours shoot me a PM.

launch control is for pussies. real drivers don't need launch control to get off the line hard. you just need to ride that bitch and modulate the throttle. if there is one thing i don't rate, its launch control. sorry.........

buwahahaha...you kill me C.

Launch control IMO is a useful tool for the track if you've got it dailed in properly. If not, then its no better than not having it at all. Just b/c you have launch control doesn't mean you'll run the best track time you can, its still all about the driver and throttle control like nightstick said.
If you're launch control is set too high, you'll just smoke your tires off and go nowhere. Even if you've got it dialed in right, you've still gotta control the throttle off the line.

try an LSD tranny, stickier tires and racing at the track? problem solved? i honestly laugh at the responses sometimes...i mean think about this for a second. Honda added an lsd to a chassis that makes 25hp more than its nearest competitor (ITR vs. GS-R) and you added, what, 200whp and your rocking it open? wow, no wonder turbo cars get popped in the street by n/a cars. i've raced cars on the roll and it was pretty much an even race. out of the hole, i can pull 3 cars on the same chassis. i heard this term about 13-14 years ago from my boy, he would always smoke his competition, and i'd ask him, "how is your cars so quick?" and he'd always say "its all driver man". as i improved my skills, i knew what he meant. when racing, if you can't drive, it really doesn't matter how much power you make unless you can put it down. and, many people can't. long live J. omg dood you make me laugh.

1) you say get an LSD tranny...ummmm..well guess what, i don't have $1200 coming out of my *** to buy a type R tranny right at this moment. it's costly enough building a motor and putting on good turbo parts not some ebay junk.

2) sticker tires? ok how bout i just roll around the street with mickey thompsons or R-comps all the time? :wtf:

3) if you knew anything about the different types of racing, you'd know that in autocross you start from a stop. your also in a parking lot, not at a drag strip where it's stickey.

but you know what, since you "know how to drive with your maDD NA vTEKK poWER!!" then why don't you post up some 60ft times of yours? actual slips?

If you're building a 350whp turbo FWD car for autocross you are building the wrong car...especially without an LSD.

Nope. The timing beams are only a foot or so away from the starting line, so it's not a "rolling start" - you're not going 60km/h when you cross the beam.

if i were going to autocross my car a good quality LSD would be the first thing on my list.
A LSD is important on a car making 300whp, and especially important for an autocross'd car, now autocrossing a 300whp car its almost a given that a good LSD is a must IMO.

Thanks B. I was pretty much going to say the same thing.

Please, don't flex your e-***** if you have no idea what you're talking about. Doing 1 or 2 autox's doesn't make you an expert. One day at the 1/4 doesn't make you an expert. Talking crap about ---- you don't even have experience with makes you look like a moron.

use your foot and get a boost controller that lets you set your boost in ur gears..

mines setup like this

button one - 8psi in gears 1 2 3 4 5
button 2 - 15psi in 1 2 20psi 3 4 5
button 3 20spi 1 2 3 4 5
button 4 - 20psi in 1 2 3 4 5 + timing advance if 100octane exisits 50/50 increase on the fly.
