Default JDM Type-r Cluster

I just got the jdm type-r cluster and there are only the main two big plugs in the back of it...my car has the same plugs but it also has an extra third little one which im guessing is for the gas guage and gas light because without this plug plugged into the type-r cluster my gas guage does not work..
does anyone know how to get it working (i also have the wiring from the type-r if it is possible to switch the wiring)
