Default Issues with brake pedal

When I am sitting at a stop I lose all compression in my brake pedal, ie. it sinks to the floor. Any ideas?

Master Cylinder went kaput. bleed the lines, check your fluid and check for leaks before ruling it the master cylinder tho

Thanks for the reply, the first thing I did was check my fluid and it's not low, I will look for leaks, there's nothing on the interior at the fire wall but I will check in the engine bay.

Is it difficult to replace myself if it is the master cylinder? is it similar to the clutch master cylinder?

Your master cylinder is bad and needs replacing. Its a common problem on older integras. A nice upgrade would be the 1" cylinder from the ITR or GSR instead of the 15/16" you have in your RS now.

You can replace it your self if you have a flared wrence to remove the brake lines. You will need someone to help you bleed the brakes, unless you have one of those speed bleeders.

I had this happen to me at a stop light on the way home from work yesterday morning ... but for me it seems to come and go at different times .. it's weird. I had all my brake lines changed just about a year ago because they were bad and I broke them going over a speed bump too quickly

Anyways, only since after my lines were changed that I get this problem .. happens so rare though but when it does it scares the sh*t outta me cause last thing I need is to ram into someone

Mine happens worse at some times then others and it also comes and goes. Also, letting my foot off the brake then reapplying gets back the pressure. I did flush my system 6 months ago when I changed my brakes is there a possibility that it could be air in the lines?

I have no loss of fluid either?

For those who have replaced their master cylinder, were you loosing fluid?
