intake whistle
I can hear a whistling sound..(not the good sucking whistle) it sounds like theres a leak or something..i hear this when i rev up slowly...when i press on the gas hard..it disappears and i can hear the roar of the intake...but if i press it slowly, i can hear a whistle.
i heard it could be the filter...i have the cheap "reactive" one.. what do you guys think?... i might change to K&N is thats the case..

Lol ugh dude what are you, the spokes person for the turbo whistler exhaust enhancer. Anyways, it could be the filter dude, some of those filters are known to have like yellow inner cones so that could be it. Don't think it's anything to worry about. What kind of intake are you running also?

lol...well the intake is no name...and i got it for free....lol cause i remember a year ago my cousin was telling me, its about the filter and not the tube... but i guess even the filter i went the cheap way... its really nothing to worry about..just annoying...

Well to be honest back when I was in highschool I just threw on a cone filter over my stock piping. Doing this made a whistle sound, which is why I ask. Remember the inside of the pipe isn't smooth so air ripples around etc. But basically yeah, the filter is the bigger part of it.

My K&N cone whistles a bit at part-throttle.
But seriously, it's just a noise. lol. It doesn't effect anything. Not worth spending the money on anew filter just cause it whistles...
If it really anoys you that much, try loosening the filter and turning it to a different position, then re-tighten the clamp and see if it still does it.

My old da with velocity stack at 6k+ rpm it would sound like wastegate wide open lol.
Single cam I installed, sounded like it had a whistle attached.
Its all about air velocity, pipe size and intake pipe/filter shape.

I have a similar problem.
try this: take off the piping and filter one at a time, see if the sound is still there or not. You can work by means of elimination. I took off both the piping and filter, and the "whistle" is still there.
