Ignition issue?

After hell week with my car (check out the General discussion forum for my little story), I have one problem left.

My car will not start when left in the sun! :headbang:

Now, I remember from back in the day with my 1990 skylark that my mechanic said sometimes ignition modules act up in the heat when the get old and worn out.

Does this sound right to you guys?

And at the risk of seeming a little daft, Is the ignition module the "distributor"?

Any help is appreciated

Thats not it,

It is the Main Fuel Relay that is located under the dash on the driver side, directly above the interior fuse box (clutch pedal). The connections wear out over time not allowing the car to start. If it happens again, reach under and wiggle the relay or hit the dash (by the turning signal) and it should start. (Also, wait for the fuel pump to prime before you start the car and give it some gas). HTH

Pic?

Can someone post a pic of the relay. Im sure that I can figure it out when I buy a new one, but I would just like to know for sure if its the right part. Experience has taught me that the part they give you has a one out of 8 chance that its is not the right part regardless of the box or computer says. The sad part is in my experience one out of those right 7 is defective from the factory.

Thanks for the help guys:rockon:

your car main relay.. its under the driver side dash to the left.

its a little box with a serial number on it. the sodder on the back of it will running causing breaks in the connections....

my 2nd gen did it all the time in the summer. get a knew one or opens ur up n lay some new sodder lines in but becareful and dont burn the boards. a new relay is like 20 bucks for like a used one.

Need a new main fuel relay or a new ignitor which is located in the distributor

Good goin guys

Thanks for the tips guys. I pulled the damn thing out and carried it with me in the nice A/C every day for about a week before it finally gave up on me. I got the new one from Acura and the car has no problems starting at all. Though I seem to have minor idle problem. What RPM should my car idle at? Is it possible that a sensor got dirty from the incorrectly operating fuel relay? Its fine at high idle when I turn it on. Its fine after high idle kicks down. After it gets warmed up though it starts to idle around 500 and drops as low as 300. Any info is a big help guys.
