at idle you can hear the exhaust pop..why?

Default at idle you can hear the exhaust pop..why?

Like I stated above, when my car is at idle you can hear popping from the exhaust why is this?

My over the internet guess : Misfire.

Are you talking about revving it and when it comes to idle it pops or just it sits there popping away?

It means that one or more of the cylinders doesn't fire/ignite as its supposed to but rather just pushes the fuel without igniting it.

Sometimes it just has a bog or hesitation, but sometimes you can hear the exhaust making poping sounds, thats because the fuel ignites in the exhaust instead of in the cylinder.

its a b16 in a 91 hatch has a catback and magnaflow muffler and intake..other than that its stock. When the car is at idle..meaning when i its seating.

do a full tune up anyways while your at it.. and check your timing.
