hytech replica feedback plz

recently purchased a hytech replica 4-2-1 tri-y header , and wanted to know what you guys think about them and if you encountered problems with them after owning them for a while . I know they're difficult to put together , cuz the piping doesn't exactly line up.

8500 RPM 07-23-2010 11:45 AM

I have no experience with this one, but why didn't you ask this before you bought it?!

93tegralsv 07-23-2010 12:11 PM

cuz I can still exchange it , the guys @ Jdm addiction says a lot of ppl are buying them . just want opinions on them .

AcuratePaul 07-23-2010 01:12 PM

It's a replica of a good header. But it's a replica so I can't imagine it's the best out there. You get what you pay for. But I have no knowledge about them either.

93tegralsv 07-23-2010 01:35 PM

I've seen on a dyno with the same car on both runs , n the replica was putting out more than dc sports headers , I just dunno if ppl had any issues after using them for a while .

AcuratePaul 07-23-2010 01:57 PM

Tbh if it's made with the right materials it should be good and cause no problems. What else could you trade it in for?

93tegralsv 07-23-2010 02:45 PM

I got it frm Jdm addiction , the don't do refund , only exchange or store credit id get wutever else would be good for an lsvtec build . im thinking ill just stick with thees header .

Its a good header. A lot better than DC sport. DC sport is garbage.

93tegralsv 07-23-2010 04:20 PM

thnx bro , so 340 cash for the headers was a good buy ? love the eg :)

AcuratePaul 07-23-2010 09:19 PM

340 for headers ya thats a real good price man.

D.T.P 07-24-2010 12:43 AM

If its brand new, then its a good deal.
And thanks, Pictures make it look better than what it is :P

I picked up one of that header last year to replace the DC header that I had squashed the year before. The DC header was just a waste of money..

My replica was a pain to put together, I managed to get 3 out of the 4 piles to line up and slide but but could not get the 4th I gave up after 15 min and wanted to drop kick the thing :) I got help from my brother and we got it in with no problems, so you might need some extra hands.

I installed the header and noticed that it slanted to the bottom when connecting to the exhaust, not sure if will will be able to tell from the picture, it would have been better if it was bent an inch up so it would be level with the exhaust, but after some work I did manage to bolt it up. If you are going to run no cat get ready for raspy and nasty sounding exhaust.
I ran no cat but with a WS cat back and it was nice, but I just gave the header to my brother to put on his Integra with some noname exhaust and it sounds horrible after he installed it.

Also the header does sit a bit lower then OEM, especially with that downward angel, who knows I might have just gotten a crappy one.

Attached are some pix..

I am planning on getting a full Catback , I also had struggles trying to put the headers together , guessing there all like that . but overall you like the way they perform ? also Wut catback should I go with , that won't sound like a tin can , that isn't an arm and a leg ? thnx

AcuratePaul 07-27-2010 12:41 PM

Nice pics levi seems like they aren't made to spec really then since they don't fit perfectly.

93tegralsv if you plan on getting a full catback it's like anything else it's what you pay for is what you get. Exhaust can't me cheap cuz then they sound like a fart can. and won't fit all that well with the chassis of the car. One i was in need of an exhaust I went with the Skunk2 Mega power cat back...yes it was really pricey but it fits perfectly its stainless steal and it sounds really good. And took only an 1-2 hours to install.

I got an Apex'i WS2 catback meant for an EG hatch so it sits shorter, but with it sunken in more, it doesn't give cops a reason to follow up behind me.

Hytech rep headers are a good bolt on for the price and flow very nice, although the 4-2-1 seems to sit funny as opposed to 4-1.

Woah. Nice set up there Levi.

And Im gonna have to agree with the WS2, its one of the quieter set ups.

But I got a new engine 2000 Type R but I was told that header will not fit, so I gave it to my brother. Over all it was a good header for the price.
