Default How to remove condensation from headlights?

Hey there,

I have a '98 TEG that has a heavy amount of condensation inside the driver's side headlight. I was wondering how I would go about fixing this issue so that I could clean it out and then seal it up?

If anybody can post some tips here that would be great!

Thanks

yeah, ur gonna have to seal it up with some silicone, check the back check if those little vents are still intact and the rubber boot at the back of the headlight is tight around the bulb holder.
did u just buy the car? have u ever opened the headlight before of maybe the previous owner did? if thats the case they might not have been sealed back up properly. if all else fails u can always buy another pair of headlights.

u should be okay though.

One way is to crack them open, and you know those little packets that you get in electronics and other stuff its called silica gel. It removes moisture. So open them up, dry them up and throw 2 of those in each headlight somewhere in the back and seal them back up. Even if it has a small leak the silica will asorb the moisture.

Try a helms manual or a acura service manual. If you become a premiere member there is a link for all the integra manuals for free in the premiere section.

u gotta remove the front bumper to take off the headlights... its easy, but not as easy as on some other cars... i had a similar problem, and even after pulling the headlight out, opening it, sealing it, and baking it, the condensation came back.... so i just went off and bought a new set of lights from ebay for 230 cdn...about 120 a piece...

if you're really determined and fixated on trying to fix the problem though, go to http://www.team-integra.net ...go into the articles section of the sight...find the one about "removing g3 front bumper" for how to remove the bumper (after u've done that, there are just 4 10mm bolts holding the headlights in place...remove em and pull, and the headlights are out)... anyway, for tips on how to bake the headlights and crack them open/reseal them, read the article entitled something like "integra DIY angel eyes" ... its not directly related to condensation, but there is a how to about how to go about taking apart the headlights and resealing them

good luck
